Artful Thursdays at Dennis museum Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis is offering admission by donation all day every Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and talks at 11 a.m., tours at 2 p.m. and special events on se- lected Thursday evenings. The talks will be given by exhibiting curators and artists and the tours by museum docents. All are welcome. Camera club at art association The Cape Cod Art Association camera club meets at 7 p.m. ev- ery other Thursday at the CCAA on Route 6A in Barnstable. Group for Barnstable youths The Barnstable Youth Commission and its Youth Empowered Through Learning Leadership advisory group meet at 2 p.m. every first and third Thursday in room 2108 at Barnstable High School. Cape & Islands Gay & Straight Youth Alliance (CIGSYA) CIGSYA House, 56 Barnstable Road in Hyannis, is pleased to announce two upcoming events in December. On Dec. 20 the "Food for Thought" dinner. This month's theme is "Holiday Stress - How to Deal" and will feature a therapist from the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. The even is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. and is open to youth ages 22 and younger. On Dec. 23 CIGSYA will host CAPEMIX, a social group for people 21 and older within the LGBT community. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and DJ Henny Martin will spin tunes until 11 p.m. A donation of $5 is suggested or bring a food treat for everyone to share. This is a 21 and older event and is BYOB. The recent series will wind up 2006 with Dr. Seuss 's How the Grinch Stole Chris tmas on Dec. 18 at 1 p.m. Weekly films and food The Island Merchant, 10 Ocean St. in Hyannis, has screenings of popular films every Tuesday evening. Food and drink samples related to the film are served on the side at 7 p.m. The screenings are at 7:30 p.m. Admis- sion for the package is $15 or you can order off the menu. feffH MUSIC: A reallllly big Christmas show Chandler Travis has a "big tent " philosophy (not unlike that other master of Sunday night entertain- ment , Ed Sullivan), and the proof will be in the Xmas pudding of his annual Christmas Cavalcade at the Old Jailhouse Tavern in Orleans Sunday at 7 p.m. The benefit for the NOAH shelter for the homeless will feature the Chandler Travis Philharmonic , The Incredible Casuals, Kami Lyle & Joey Spampinato, The Shook Fambly Singers, Fred Fried, and many more musicians. Admission is $15, but no one will be turned away. Concert for Life Local band Mike Harmon and Friends, featuring Barnstable High School's own Mike Harmon, will present a special Concert for Life this evening at 8 p.m. at Liberty Hall in Marstons Mills. The concert, held in memory of Harmon's father, aims to raise money for the New England Organ Bank.
