Wheiden Library holiday party Children from preschool through Grade 3 are invited to a holiday celebration at the Welden Memorial Library on Monday at 4 p.m. Children will learn about Hanukkah and make a Hanukkah craft, as well as hear a Christmas story and make a Christ- mas craft. Pizza and holiday goodies will be served. Registration is required by calling the library at 508-362-2262. Marstons Mills library party Children from preschool to Grade 3 are invited to a holiday party at the Marstons Mills Public Library on Tues- day at 4:30 p.m. Children will learn about Hanukkah and make a Hanuk- kah craft, as well as hear a Christmas story and make a Christmas craft. December Art at Brewster Ladies' Library The December art show at the Brewster Ladies' Library features "Recent Works" by Marion Beck von Peccoz and Alicia Hammat. Marion recently won first prize for pastels in the 2006 All Cape Art Show. Both artists have studied at the Chatham Creative Arts Center. Story hour Thursday mornings Ages 3 to 5 are invited to attend story hour at Wheiden Library in West Barnstable Thursday mornings from 10 to 1 1 . Sturgis Library news Ongoing book sales are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library on Route 6A. Donations are always accepted. Book sale in Osterville The Friends of the Osterville Vil- lage Library sponsors a used book sale every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon as well as the first and third Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pre-school stories and ac- tivities for ages 3 to 5 Tuesdays from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. To pre-register, call 508-428-5757. Barnes & Noble Tuesday toddler story time is at 10 a.m. with preschool story time every Wednesday at 11 a.m. On Fridays there is a special story time for school-age children at 7 p.m. A book club focusing on personal growth and spirituality meets at 9:30 a.m. the second Wednesday of the month. Cotuit Library Story times at the Cotuit Library are Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesdays at 2:15 p.m. when pre- schoolers are welcome for stories, songs and crafts. Eastham Public Library The Eastham Public Library has weekly story time Fridays at 10:30 a.m. for children up to age 5. A craft session follows. White Mountains come to Cahoon New Hampshire's White Mountains have long been a magnet for tourists, including many Cape Codders. The Cahoon Museum of American Art in Cotuit's holiday exhibition, "God's Country: The White Mountains in Art" celebrates that region through Dec. 31. The Cahoon Museum is at 4676 Route 28. Around the Cape CCMA extends NY Art Students' show The Cape Cod Museum of Art has announced the extension of i the New York Art Students League Show through Dec. 30. This is a rare chance to see the works of artists known nationally for their influence on the entire American art scene. CCMA is located on Route 6A in Dennis at the Cape Cod Center for the Arts. Art transforms at CCMA A new exhibit by Cape artist RJ Katz, Transforming Art: As Time Goes By, opens tomorrow at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis. This exhibi- tion offers viewers Cape Cod scenes from two points of view: one from the artist who painted it in the past and the second from the photogra- pher, Katz, who turned a lens on it in the present. Viewers will have the opportunity to compare and contrast the feelings evoked by the different mediums , as well as the varying time periods reflected in the works. This exhibit runs through March 4 with gallery talks on Jan. 13 and Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. Artists' works make treasured gifts The Lyman-Eyer Gallery in Provinc- etown at 432 Commercial St. offers the works of 17 gallery artists for sale, including still lives, figure works, abstract images and more.
