tha Hansberry, Mary Lewis and

Frederick Hebdltch, Hyannis ma-
gician, entertained the children
with many acts, among which was
tbe "pulling of a rabbit out of a
bat." Little Sharon Lewis, who as-
sisted Mr. Hebdltch in the act, was
awarded the rabbit.
Father Buckley, the Rev. Joha
DrlBcoll, and Sister Grace de Sales
were presented gifts from the Guild
by Mrs. John Llnehan, president.
Mrs. James F. Shields, Jr. was
chairman of the party, assisted by
Mmes. Shirley Crosby, Francis A.
Webb, John Llnehan, Robert Sims,
Clifford Bonna and Miss Catberine
Cross.
COMMUNITY CHURCH
I A special Christmas Midnight
' Service with the choir and the
candlellghtlng pageant, "The Light
of Bethlehem," will be presented.
BAPTI8T CHURCH
Rev. Mr. MacDonald will preach
Sunday morning at 11 on the topic,
r "The Great Conflict" ; and in the
evening at 7:30 on "Meaning of the
Word, 'Savior'." At 6:15 p.m. Sun-
day the Youth Fellowship will
meet,
Monday afternoon at 3:16 the
Junior Youth Fellowship will hold
its Christmas party. At 7:30 in the
evening, the Men's Fellowship Is to
meet.
The topic for the Wednesday
evening prayer meeting at 7:46 is
"Pray that we might realize the
true meaning of Christmas."
At 7:30 Friday night comes the
senior choir rehearsal, also the re-
hearsal for the Christmas pageant.

books in response to a request of
the American Merchant Marine Li-
brary Association in Boston,

Mr. and Mrs. Richard B. Lewis
of Bay Street, Osterville, will ob-
serve their 50th wedding anniver-
sary Dec. 20th at a family party in
their home.

Fred Carlson, celebrated his sev-
enth birthday anniversary with a
party at his home.

HISTORICAL MEETING
A meeting of the Osterville His-
torical Society met in the Public
Library lost Wednesday evening.
8everal new members Joined the
group. The meeting was called to
order by the president, Miss Har-
riet Chace, with Andrew Hall read-
ing the secretary's report and Mrs.
B. D. Leonard, the treasurer's re-
port. Tentative plans were dis-
cussed for a home to house the so-
ciety's pieces, also plans to raise
money to finance the renting of a
home. At the February meeting
more definite plans will be made.
4-H CLUB
Lorraine Delalttre, Association
County Club Agent of Barnstable,
will be the guest speaker at the
4-H Club meeting tonight (Thurs-
day) at the Osterville School.
Meetings will be held from 3 to 4
p.m. each Thursday and the square
dance classes will be held at the
Community Center from 3:30 to
5:30 p.m. on the same day. The
square dance classes have been
advanced to 6:30 to give children
who are attending the 4-H Club a
chance to participate following the
4-H meetings.
SAULTER-EVAN8 WEDDING
A wedding ot Interest took place
Sunday afternoon, December 4, in
Osterville Community Church,
when Miss Faith Evans, daughter
ot Mr. and Mrs. Frederick R. Evans
of Centerville, became the bride of
Johnnie F. Saulter of Lancaster,
Pa. He is a former band leader and
singer.
The church was decorated with
beautiful white chrysanthemums
given by Mr. Evans. Rev. Peter
Palches UBed a double-ring Bervlce
in uniting the couple. There were
no attendants and only members
of the family were present.
Mr, Saulter is a son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Lee J. Saulter of
! Lubbock, Texas. He is now em-
ployed as a salesman, having
served with the Merchant Murine
and the Navy during the last war.
His bride, a graduate of Barn-
stable High School, attended Bos-
ton University and the Bryant-
Stratton Commercial School.
The couple will make their home
In Lancaster.

The annual Christmas Sale of
the Baptist Sewing Circle was held
TueBday in the Church vestry.

Osterville Garden Club Ways and

met at the home of Mrs. Malcolm
Crosby to make tentative plans to
present to the January meeting for

committee are Miss Hlnkle and
Miss Virginia Fuller. Tea was
served by the hostess.
The Osterville Garden club will
meet in Community Center to work
on the Christmas decorations for
Camp Edwards. The will also make
decorations for the Nurses' Home
Hyannis. '

The sum ot $100 was voted
toward church expenses during a
meeting of the Tri-F Club of Oster
ville Baptist Church. It also voted
to donate $5 toward the Minister'!
Retirement Fund, $2 to the Need
lest Families Fund of the Cape Cod
Standard-Times and to hold a pub
lie Bupper in January, with Mrs,
Ronald Chesbro and Mrs. Cecil
Coleman in charge.
Following the meeting, Mrs,
Ernest Fritz, spoke on Christmas
greens and displayed many ar-
rangements of centerpieces and
mantel decorations. She then as-
sisted members in making wreaths
and sprays.
The program was in charge of
Mrs. Leonard Cloud and Mrs. T.
Scott Buckner, who made and pre-
sented each member a Christmas
corsage.
A special award was given to
Mrs. Chester Wyman.
Next meeting of the club will be
a Christmas party at 8 p.m. Dec.
20 In the home of Mrs. Cecil A. Cole-
man, with Mrs. Irving Coleman as
co-hoBtess.

Tho newly-organized "make and
mend" 4-H Club, under the super-
vision of Mrs. Larkln Swift, held
Its second meeting from 3 to 4
p.m. last Thursday at the OBtor-
