The Busy Bee Sewing Circle will meet at 2. JEWISH CELEBRATION A special "Chanukah" service will be held at Cape Cod Syna- gogue tomorrow at 8 o'clock. This Feast of Lights, Feast ot Rededl- cation, will open at sundown today and close at the same time De- cember 23rd. This festival is especially observed in the homes where families gather to sing fes- tive songs and light candles. A candle will be lighted each night until there are eight. It Is a sea- son for thanksgiving and rededlca- tlon to the faith , and Is in com- memoration of the rededlcation of the temple by the Macabees when Antiochus, ruler of Syria, was in- tent upon up-rooting Judaism and installing paganism in Palestine. The great preachment of the prophet Zecharlah will be read on the Sabbath during the festival. REBEKAHS After an 8 p.m. business meet- ing Tuesday in Odd Fellows Hall members of Willing Hand Lodge will exchange gifts not to cost over 50 cents, at a Christmas tree party in charge of Mrs. Hilda Wannie, Mrs. Ethel Lahteine and Mrs. Alice Coggeshall. Net proceeds of about $250 was realized on the Christmas sale, tea and card party, and donations included $5 to the Neediest Fami- lies Fund of Cape Cod Standard- Times, $10 for Christmas altar flowers for St. Francis Xavier Church, and $10 to the Medical Center of Boston Children's Hos- pital. Donations of $5 were made to the Neediest Families Fund of the Cape Cod Standard-Times, to the Children 's Medical Center and to ( the V. F. W. National Home for Veterans at Eaton Rapids, Neb. CATHOLIC CHILDREN'S PARTY Following his annual custom the Rev. Thomas J,. The Christmas Party referred to is for the boys and girls of the Church School. A pageant, "Christ- mas Eve at Home," will be pre- sented under the direction of Miss Evelyn A. Lahteine. Carols will be sung, and Santa Claus will be present to distribute the gifts. At the Workers' Conference Monday evening, which is the regular monthly" meeting, a short business session will be followed by an address by Dr. Arthur J. Canning on "Comparative Re- ligions." Dr, Canning has been making a special study of the fea- tures of the Catholic, Protestant and Jewish religions and will base his talk on the book, "One God" by Mary Fitch.
