CIGSYA activities The Cape & Islands Gay & Straight Youth Alliance has a dance room, cyber center, library, TV room and game room as well as several programs and activi- ties. There are monthly dances, support meetings for all family members, movie nights, pot-luck dinners, tutoring and mentoring. CIGSYA is located at 56 Barnstable Road in Hyannis and serves people 22 and under. Circle for Youth meets from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays at the club house. Activities include creative writing, visual art, dance, theater and more. A new conversational group for people who have questions about gender meets the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 8 p.m. Call for details. Yogilates in Osterville Cape Cod Pilates, 1336 Main St. in Osterville, offers a new yogilates class Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. Ad- mission is $12 or free if you bring a friend. Mangia, mangia! It's pasta night every Thursday between 5:30 and 8:30 at the Sons of Italy, 4996 Falmouth Road in Cotuit. And if that doesn't fill you up, stop by for an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet Saturday mornings between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Rec night for teens The YMCA invites grades 5 and 6 to teen recreation night held the first Saturday of the month from 7:15 to 9:45 p.m. at the Y, Route 132 in West Barnstable. Admission is free to $3. Grades 7 and 8 are invited to teen dances the second Saturday of the month from 7:15 to 9:45 p.m. Admis- sion is free to $5. Photos with Santa Preserve a happy holiday moment by having your child's photo taken with the Big Man himself. Santa will be available at the Cape Cod Mall in his winter village in the Macy's Court through Dec. 24. Kids can tell him their wishes Mon. - Sat. from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Sundays from 12-6 p.m. with short breaks to feed the reindeer. The Cape Cod Mall is located at 769 lyannough Rd. in Hyannis. Burgess Society will join Sandwich's celebration of the holiday season with their annual Country Christmas Open House at the Green Briar Nature Center and Jam Kitchen tomorrow and Sunday. The public is invited to enjoy holiday decorations , taste product samples from the kitchen, and sip mulled cider. The shop will be open for those seek- ing unique gift ideas, with all proceeds to benefit environmental education classes at the Burgess Society. Open House hours will be 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. tomorrow and 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Green Briar will remain open seven days a week until Dec. 23 at which time hours will be Tues. through Sat. from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Green Briar is located at 6 Discovery Hill Rd. off of Rt. 6A in East Sandwich. For more information call 508-888-6870. Christmas on the Canal St. Peter's Church in the Canal will hold its annual Christmas Craft Fair and Breakfast with Santa tomorrow. Breakfast will be served from 8 until 10 a.m. and Santa will be available for photos from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Craft Fair will be held from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. with a luncheon served from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Homemade soups will be available. CIGSYA Open House CIGSYA will host an Open House/ Holiday Gathering tomorrow for the community from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at its main offices at 56 Barnstable Rd. in Hyannis. Open House at Captain Baker 's house There will be a Christmas Open House at The Jericho Historical Cen- ter in West Dennis on Dec. 17 from 1-4 p.m. Capt. Baker 's lovely 1801 home will be decked out in its holiday finery and homemade refreshments will be served. Don't be alone on Christmas Our Lady of the Cape Parish in Brewster invites those who will be alone on Christmas Day to come and share in their 25"1 annual Christmas dinner. Individuals without transporta- tion will be driven to and from the dinner and meals can be delivered to those unable to travel. The event features non-alcoholic beverages, hors d'oeuvres, a turkey dinner with all the trimmings , dessert and a gift for each guest. Brewster for the Holidays The Brewster Band will kick off holiday festivities tonight with a fam- ily concert at the Brewster Baptist Church from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Tomor- row, folks can visit the many shops and galleries hosting open houses. Saturday evening will see the lighting of the luminaries along 6A, while on Sunday folks are invited to stop by the EPOCH Assisted Living center for live music and chowder from noon until 2 p.m. Then The Ocean Edge Resort will host a family finale from 3 to 5 p.m. During the event the Brewster Shopping Spree basket raffle drawing will be held. Dennis library "Toys for Tots" drop off The Dennis Public Library is serv- ing as an official US Marine Corps Reserve "Toys for Tots" drop off loca- tion. Play Santa to a needy child Community Action Committee of the Cape and Islands is launching Make a Child Happy, designed to help clients and their children this holiday season. Heritage shifts to winter hours Heritage Museums & Gardens is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Dec. 31. The Spectacle of Lights will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and Sunday, and 5 to 10 p.m. on Sat- urday. The museum will be closed on Christmas Eve, and there will be no lights on Christmas Day (when the museum will be closed). During Christmas school vacation week, Spectacle will be open every night from 5 to 9 p.m. Heritage Museums & Gardens will be closed to the public for January, February and March except for program registration. The museum will open again on April 1. Help the homeless Purchase a grocery gift card for use at Stop & Shop, Shaw's and Country Garden for the face value of $10 to $100 and use it for the full amount. Heritage hits the road Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich will lead a bus tour to Cambridge's historic Harvard Square followed by a celebration of the win- ter solstice at the 36th annual Christ- mas Revels on Dec. 15. The bus will leave at 3 p.m. and return at 11 p.m. The first stop is the luxurious Charles Hotel, then it's on to the Sanders Theater for a new German/Swiss production of Revels that explores the roots of modern Christmas and will include an ensemble cast of more than 80 performers.
