Main Street will be closed to traffic
from Old Stage Road to South Main
Street, recreating the walking village
at the heart of Barnstable. Historic
homes will be decorated with wreaths
and lights, making it easy for stroll-
ers to imagine they've slipped into
another century.
There's fun up and down the
street, including strolling carolers,
performances by the Barnstable High
School Christmas Band and Cho-
rus and the Dennis Yarmouth High
School Christmas Winds Choir, and
some of your favorites from Frosty
the Snowman, Rudolf , a North Pole
elf, and old Santa himself.

carver (we assume that 's someone
who carves bears as opposed to an
ursine artist), an antique muster fire
truck , and a Christmas village with
train display at Four Seas Ice Cream

Library, which will also welcome Pro-
fessor Readalot, who'll offer magic

bound to make you hungry, and
you'll find stations along Mam Street
providing hot dogs, chowder, hot
chocolate , marshmallows , and much
more.

15, the stores will be packed with
shoppers taking advantage of special
offers, the streets thronged with
people enjoying outdoor music perfor-
mances or sampling pizza, chowder,
subs, soup, and more.

day, but the heart of the stroll is from
5 to 9 p.m. on the 15" . Main Street
and Wianno Avenue are turned into
car-free zones, and free hayrides and
trolley rides delight all ages. Santa
makes an appearance at the Osterville
Village Library.
There's an afterglow celebration
on Saturday, the 16" , during the day
when outdoor music will be presented
again and many of the stores will hold
open houses and offer specials.

strong-Kelley Park to enjoy a festival
of lights and other treats,
