Free concerts in P-town, Orleans The Outer Cape Choral, led by Jon Arterton, presents "A Night at the Opera" at 7 tonight at Provincetown Town Hall and 3 p.m. tomorrow at Nauset Regional Middle School in Orleans. In addition, the 110-voice Chorale will perform "A Cappella Music from Around the World" at 7 p.m. tonight and tomorrow night at Provincetown Town Hall and 3 p.m. Sunday at Nauset Regional Middle School. All concerts are free; a good- will offering will be taken. Musical menagerie at Pufferbellies Tonight at Pufferbellies, there's a Cape Cod D.J. Sound Clash featur- ing five music maestros spinning their stuff. Admission is $10 for those 18 and older with doors opening at 8 p.m. On Dec. 29, dip into the Cape Cod Splash featuring Jamaican artist Screwdriver, Roger Robin from Eng- land, Michael Gabriel of Trinidad, and Shaka Black and Buzz Rock , also of Jamaica. SoulShot from Providence, an eight-piece Reggae/Ska/Dub band noted for its horn section, will also perform. Admission is $20 in advance and $25 at the door for those 18 and older with ID. The songs of the season The voice students of John Murelle - including Kelly Mosher of Marstons Mills - perform the classical, sacred, Broadway and popular songs of the season Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. at St. John's Church in Sandwich STAGE: A Christmas Story Harwich Junior Theatre presents A Christmas Story, based on the story by humorist Jean Shepherd , tonight through the 30th, with shows at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Sat- urday and 2 p.m. Sunday, and addi- tional Saturday matinees on Dec. 23 and 30. Set in the 1940s Midwest , it tells the story of 9-year-old Ralphie Parker 's quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. The Love of Three Oranges Cotuit Center for the Arts presents this comic fairy tale by Carlo Gozzi and directed by P.J. Nutcracker Gala Coastal Dance Company of West Barnstable will present Atlantic Coast Academy of Dance's 21v anniver- sary performance of the Nutcracker Gala at the Barnstable High School Performing Arts Center at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16 and 2 p.m. Sunday Dec. 17. Auditions Eventide Arts will be holding the following auditions for upcoming productions: Cinderella - Auditions will be held Dec. 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. at the Gertrude Lawrence Stage at the Dennis Union Church on the Green on Route 6A in Dennis Village. Roles are available for adults and teens and backstage work is also available. Performance dates will be Feh. 16 to 25. Barnstable Centerville's Old Fashioned Christmas Stroll From 4 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 10, Main Street will be closed to traffic from Old Stage Road to South Main Street, recreating the walking village at the heart of Barnstable. Historic homes will be decorated with wreaths and lights, making it easy for stroll- ers to imagine they've slipped into another century. There's fun up and down the street, including strolling carolers, performances by the Barnstable High School Christmas Band and Cho- rus and the Dennis Yarmouth High School Christmas Winds Choir, and some of your favorites from Frosty the Snowman, Rudolf , a North Pole elf, and old Santa himself. New sights will include a bear carver (we assume that 's someone who carves bears as opposed to an ursine artist), an antique muster fire truck , and a Christmas village with train display at Four Seas Ice Cream The recreation building will have a crafts show, as will the Centerville Library, which will also welcome Pro- fessor Readalot, who'll offer magic and storytelling. Other recommended indoor stops include CHIPS House and South Congregational Church for music as well as the Centerville Historical Museum. The last-mentioned has many Christmas-themed rooms to show how the season was celebrated in Colonial times , the 1870s and the 1950s. All that walking and listening is bound to make you hungry, and you'll find stations along Mam Street providing hot dogs, chowder, hot chocolate , marshmallows , and much more. It's all free, and all are welcome. Osterville Village Christmas Open House & Stroll They've been hosting this party for 37 years, so you can be sure they've got it right! Osterville's homage to the season combines the charm of shops in a seaside village with the reverence of an outdoor ecumenical creche service that brings the whole proceedings to s halt for about half an hour at 6 p.m. Until then and after then on Dec. 15, the stores will be packed with shoppers taking advantage of special offers, the streets thronged with people enjoying outdoor music perfor- mances or sampling pizza, chowder, subs, soup, and more. There's much to enjoy during the day, but the heart of the stroll is from 5 to 9 p.m. on the 15" . Main Street and Wianno Avenue are turned into car-free zones, and free hayrides and trolley rides delight all ages. Santa makes an appearance at the Osterville Village Library. There's an afterglow celebration on Saturday, the 16" , during the day when outdoor music will be presented again and many of the stores will hold open houses and offer specials. Don't forget to stroll down to Arm- strong-Kelley Park to enjoy a festival of lights and other treats, Open house at historical society The Osterville Historical Society has decorated the Captain Parker House on West Bay Road for the holidays, which members will mark with an open house Dec. 15 from 2 to 5 p.m. Andrea McCarthy will play the harp while browsers eye items such as note cards from an original watercolor by Ted Beltingrath. Have breakfast with Santa St. Peter's Nursery School will hold a Breakfast With St. Nick on Sunday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church at 421 Wianno Ave. in Osterville. The fee is $6 for Adults and $3 for children with proceeds to benefit the St. Peter's Nursery School Scholarship Fund. For more information call 508-428-8857. Liberty Hall luncheon and fair The Liberty hall club announces its 18"' annual Christmas Craft Fair and luncheon to take place tomorrow from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Liberty Hall Club on Main St. in Marstons Mills. Local Cape crafters will feature wares such as quilts, floral wreaths, jewelry and more. Chili, baked goods and sandwiches will be available. Proceeds benefit the Liberty Hall Club. For more information call 508-477-9031. It's Enchanted Village time! The Cape Codder Resort & Spa is hosting its Enchanted Village, a display of light and animation, for the fifth consecutive year. Visitors are welcome to take in the sights on Fridays and Sat urdays from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. and Sundays from 5 until 7 p.m. through Dec. 17. Carolers from the Barnstable High School Drama Club, dressed in festive attire, will delight crowds with holiday songs and Santa will be on hand to hear children's wishes. Visi- tors are encouraged to donate a new, unwrapped toy or gift card or non- perishable food item to place beneath the 16-foot tall "Giving Tree." Or is your preference the 1950s? The Centerville Historical Museum has 14 decorated rooms with those themes plus Maritime and 1870s notions open through Dec. 15. The museum is on Main Street. Santa Lucia Pageant The youth of First Lutheran Church 1663 Route 6A in West Barnstable will present the Scandinavian story of Santa Lucia at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. All are welcome. Help for teen parents Cape Cod Child Development is currently accepting applications for enrollment in its Teen Parent program, available to parents 19 and younger. The program provides free full-time childcare and a variety of support services to teen parents and their chil- dren Cape-wide. Call 1-800-974-8860. Conservatory offers classes Registration is open for the Cape Cod Conservatory Fine and Performing Arts classes. Students of all ages are welcome. Holiday art workshops for kids in Cotuit Coturt Center for the Arts, 4404 Rte. 28 in Cotuit, is offering a holiday workshop for children ages 6 to 12 tomorrow. The first of two workshops, "Snowbound Sculptures" will have children make a model snow globe from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants are asked to bring a bag lunch. Then from 1 to 3 p.m. children will create one-of- a-kind holiday cards using collage and printmaking techniques. The fee is $20 for one two-hour session of $35 for the day.
