Marstons Mills resident is volunteer at library Katie Betancourt,a junior at Connecticut College in New London, is a volunteer at the New London Public Library. Betancourt is vol- unteering through the Office of Volunteers for Community Service at Connecticut College. The 2004 graduate of Barnstable High School is the daughter of Beth and Rudy Betancourt of Marstons Mills. Lindsley, Daly wed Lissa Lindsley and Jeff Daly, both of Marstons Mills,were joined inmarriage at the Cotuit Federated Church on Oct. 14, 2006 by the Reverend Diane Cusumano. A reception followed immediately at the Wequaquet Lake Yacht Club in Centerville. The bride is the daughter of James and Patricia Lindsley of Shell Beach, Calif. She was given in marriage by her father to the groom, son of John Daly of Centerville and Denise Daly of both Hyan- nisport and Little Torch Key, Fla. Jennifer Lindsley of Pacific Beach. Calif, was her sister's maid of honor while bridesmaids were Meaghan McCabe, Katie Daly, sister of the bride- groom,Jennifer Bianchi,and Victoria Daly, daughter of the bridegroom. Daniel Eldredge served as the bridegroom 's best man and ushers were Kellen Daly, brother of the bridegroom, Jason Merrill, and Mike Villa. The bride graduated from Barnstable High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Suffolk Uni- versity. She is head of the marketing department at Mashpee Commons, LP. The bridegroom is a graduate of Barnstable High School and is a self-employed framing con- tractor. The Dalys will honeymoon at a later date. The couple resides in Cotuit. Discussion and mediation Spirit Journey Philosophical/metaphysical discussion and meditation group meets on Saturdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Winslow House of First Parish Brewster Church, Route 6A. Meditation offered for beginners The Cape Sangha, aZen Buddhist meditation group, meets Sundays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Old Schoolhouse on Route 6A in Barnstable village. All are welcome, and basic instruction in meditation is offered to beginners. Zen Center presents weekly meditation The Cape Cod Zen Center has weekly meditation practice at the Unitarian Church of Barnstable, Barnstable village on Route 6A. The Tuesday morning group meets at 8 for meditation in the RE area downstairs. There is meditation instruction on Fridays at 6:40 p.m. in the library and a Friday Evening Group meets in the library, behind the sanctuary, at 7 for meditation.
