Community of Jesus, Rock Harbor, Orleans, Dec. 1, 2 and 3 in the Caritas Gallery (508-240-2400). Giclee prints of
the icons willbe for sale. The exhibit coincides with the Advent Festival at the Community,which will include "elegant
teas" Friday and Saturday at 1and 3 p.m. and Sunday at 12:30 and 2 p.m. and a candle-lit service of Advent lessons
and carols Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. (with an organ prelude at 3:30 p.m.)

happenings
Village of Lights to greet
Santa
Santa Claus will arrive by fire truck
tonight at 7:30 p.m. to spark the
Hyannis Village of Lights Christmas
Stroll, and you're invited to visit him
at the village green. Before and after,
enjoy hayrides, music, an outdoor
movie, and the Blessing of the Ani-
mals along Main Street. On Saturday,
Santa welcomes small and large
fry for breakfast at the British Beer
Company (advance - and required
- tickets are available at BBC and the
JFK Hyannis museum for $6 today).
There's more to do along Main Street
Saturday, but at 4 p.m. be down by
the artist shanties on Hyannis Inner
Harbor to welcome Santa and his
friends when he arrives by boat.
Back to Bethlehem
The First Baptist Church of
Hyannis, on the corner of Main Street
and High School Road, invites you
to "Marketplace in Bethlehem," a
unique presentation of the Christmas
story, today, Friday, Dec. 1, from 5 to
8 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 2 from 1
to 4 p.m. Groups leave every 10 min-
utes for a 40-minute journey; there is
no admission charge.
Spectacle of Trees
benefits nonprofits
Cape Cod Charitable FunRaisers,
Inc., along with the Hyannis Area
Chamber of Commerce, Kennedy
Museum and Cape & Islands United
Way, present "The Spectacle of Trees,"
a benefit for 14 local nonprofits, this
Holiday Stroll weekend. The decorated
trees will be displayed at the Kennedy
Museum on Main Street, where bidding
on them will commence Dec. 1 from 4
to 8 p.m. and continue Saturday from
10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Winners will be
announced at 8 p.m.
Federated Church to host
fair
The Federated Church of Hyannis
on Main Street will hold its Christ-
mas Commons Fair on Friday, Dec. 1
from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday,
Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to noon. A lobster
luncheon is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. Friday, and chili, chowder, hot
dogs and dessert will be available
from 5 to 7 that evening.
An artful harbor lighting
The Harbor Your Arts artists shan-
ties at Hyannis Inner Harbor will be
open as part of the Hyannis Harbor
Lighting on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 4
to 7 p.m. The Harbor Your Arts Holi-
day Show will be at Guyer Barn Art
Gallery, 250 South St., Hyannis, from

presents a gaggle of local authors

hours and more
The Marstons Mills Public Library
at 2160 Main St. invites children of
all ages to weekly events. Drop in at
story hour for all ages Tuesdays at 10
a.m. through Dec. 12. Pajama Time
for ages 3 to 7 is Tuesday at 6:30
p.m. when there will be songs and
stories, through Dec. 12. An after-
school program is held Wednesdays
at 4:30 p.m. when grades K-3 enjoy
books and crafts , through Dec. 13.
