Fine Art and Craft Photography for
artists on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Cape
Cod Community Collage. Artists are
invited to bring a piece of their work
and their own camera equipment to
the seminar, where they will learn
how to take professional photographs
of their own work for reproduction in
print and digital media, and for build-
ing a successful portfolio.
Nationally recognized craft pho-
tographer Doug Long of Outermost
Photography will present the work-
shop. Attendance is limited to 12
participants, and enrollment is first

College admissions 101
Cape Cod Community College
invites prospective students, family
members and friends to learn about
the application process, financing
options, transfers and other issues
on Saturday Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to
noon in the Tilden Arts Center. The
morning starts with a Continental
breakfast and registration, so partici-
pants are encouraged to arrive just
a bit early to enjoy coffee, juice and
pastries.
Following formal presentations,
campus tours will be conducted by
current students and staff. Tours will
i include the new Lorusso Applied
Technology Building, home to the
College's open computer laboratory,
a variety of classrooms, and student
learning centers.

Sponsor a child for
Christmas
The Salvation Army Hyannis Corps
is seeking sponsors for its Dress a
Live Doll program, which matches
children 12 and younger from at-risk
families with sponsors who provide
a complete outfit of warm clothing.
This year, more than 1,000 children
have been accepted into the pro-
gram. Sponsors can be individuals or
groups. All gifts are due in by Dec. 2.

Animal Care and Adoption Center

Greens sale in Centerville
Find centerpieces, prays, holly and
bows at the Holiday Greens Sale at

The second annual Bed & Break-
fast Tour, sponsored by the Hyannis
Rotary Club, will take place on Sun-
day, Dec. 3 from 1 to 5 p.m. Tickets
for this self guided tour are $20 and
include admission and Christmas
cookies at the following B&Bs: The
Acworth Inn, Ashley Manor, The
Belfrey Inn and Bistro, Burley Manor,
Cranberry Manor, Highpoint Inn, Hon-
eysuckle Inn, The Inn at Sandwich
Center, Isaiah Jones Homestead, The
Lamb and Lion Inn, The Long Dell Inn
and Simmons Homestead.

Holiday fair to benefit St.
Vincent de Paul
St. Vincent de Paul Clothing Cen-
ter, a ministry of Christ the King Par-
ish, 4463 Route 28, Cotuit, is holding
a Holiday Boutique on Friday, Nov.
24 and Saturday, Nov. 25 from 9 a.m.
to 3 p.m. Holiday clothes, Christmas
decorations, gift items, linens, toys

Help for teen parents
Cape Cod Child Development is
currently accepting applications for
enrollment in its Teen Parent pro-
gram, available to parents 19 and
younger. The program provides free
full-time childcare and a variety of
support services to teen parents and

classes
Registration is open for the Cape
Cod Conservatory Fine and Perform-

Art workshops for kids in
Cotuit
Cotuit Center for the Arts, 4404
Rte. 28 in Cotuit, will offer monthly

the second Sunday of each month
from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The fee for each
workshop is $25 and pre-registration
by the preceding Wednesday is a

Learn about the Coast
Guard
The U.S. Coast Guard Heritage
Museum at the Trayser on Route 6A
in Barnstable village presents the
artifacts and stories of the life-saving
service. Open Tuesday through Sat-
urday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admis-
sion is $3 (free to active Coast Guard
members).
Teens invited to rec
nights
The YMCA of Cape Cod, Route
132 in West Barnstable, hosts a Kids
Night Out Program when children are
invited to swim, play sports, create
arts and crafts and more, each Friday
evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Staff-su-

NOAH Center needs
blankets
The NOAH Center emergency
shelter for adults needs blankets to
give away. New and used ones may
be dropped off at 77 Winter St. in
Hyannis.
Kindermusik for children
Preschool music classes for ages
18 months to 4 are ongoing at the
South Congregational Church in
Centerville for $9 a class. Kindergar-
ten-age children are invited to attend
Kindermusik Young Child classes

The Cape & Islands Gay & Straight
Youth Alliance has a dance room,

Cape Cod Pilates, 1336 Main St.

Greenbriar Christmas
Fair Nov. 18
Old Mother West Wind's Christmas
Fair will take place Saturday, Nov. 18
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Green Briar
Nature Center, 6 Discovery Hill Road
(off Route 6A) in East Sandwich.
This year's fair includes the raffle of
a handmade children's quilt (tickets
available now for $1 or six for $5), a
bake table, homemade chowder and
chili and more. Admission is free. Call

Fun at Camp Lyndon
YMCA Cape Cod is inviting chil-
dren to join in a unique celebration
of Thanksgiving on Saturday, Nov. 18
from noon to 5 p.m. at Camp Lyndon
in Sandwich. "Mayflower Madness"
will give children ages 6 to 12 a
chance to show off their culinary
and artistic skills as they prepare,
cook and decorate a Thanksgiving
feast for their families. Parents and
siblings are invited to return at 4
p.m. to "gobble up" the fruits of the
children's labors. Cost is $25 per

Play Santa to a needy
child
Community Action Committee of
the Cape and Islands is launching
Make a Child Happy, designed to
help clients and their children this
holiday season. Similar to the Dress
a Doll program , Make a Child Happy
will provide donors with a child's wish
list and clothing size. Donors can
purchase as much or as little from
the list as their hearts and budgets

Hospice service Sunday
Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape
Cod will celebrate a Service of
Remembrance at 3 p.m. on Sunday,
Nov. 19 at the Corpus Christi Parish
Center, located on Quaker Meeting
House Road at the intersection of
Exit 3 off Route 6 in Sandwich.
The celebration will include inspi-
rational readings, uplifting music,
and the reading of each loved one's
name. A reception with light refresh-
