Book sale in Osterville The Friends of the Osterville Vil- lage Library sponsors a used book sale every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon as well as the first and third Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pre-school stories and ac- tivities for ages 3 to 5 Tuesdays from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. To pre-register, call 508-428-5757. Pastels for ail seasons Carole Chisholm Garvey's new pas- tel paintings of the changing seasons are featured in an exhibition and sale at the Cahoon Museum of American Art on Route 28 in Cotuit through Nov. 19. Call 508-428-7581. White Mountains come to Cahoon New Hampshire's White Mountains have long been a magnet for tourists, including many Cape Codders. The Cahoon Museum of American Art in Cotuit's holiday exhibition, "God's Country: The White Mountains in Art" celebrates that region through Dec. 31. An opening reception will be Friday, Nov. 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. Samuel M. Robbins, an authority on White Mountain Art, will give a tour of the exhibit at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9. Around the Cape Art Guild exhibits The Yarmouth Art Guild is featuring artists Doris Peacor and Rita Ber- nier at Cape Cod Cooperative Bank, Route 6A, Yarmouthport. Gretchen Irving is exhibiting at Sovereign Bank, Route 28, South Yarmouth. Both exhibits are up through Nov. 29. Holiday opening in Mashpee BFW Gallery in Mashpee Commons will host an opening reception this evening, Nov. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. to kick off its "Small Jewels Holiday Show," featuring artists J. Vincent Diggs, Jerome Greene, Kathryn Kleekamp, Alison Vernon, Diana Lee, Susan Kelley and Keith Howarth. The exhibit will run through Dec. 31 at the gallery located across from Star- bucks. Artful Thursdays at Dennis museum Cape Cod Museum of Art is of- fering admission by donation all day every Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and beginning a new program to deepen appreciation of Cape Cod art and artists with talks at 11 a.m., tours at 2 p.m. and special events on selected Thursday evenings. The talks will be given by exhibiting curators and artists and the tours by museum docents. Four artists featured at Brewster Library "Three Gals and a Guy" is the featured art exhibit for November at the Brewster Ladies' Library, 1822 Main St. (Route 6A), Brewster, The exhibit features the work of four award-winning artists: Joyce Aaron, Kate Fournaris, Edie Newcomb and Edward Friedman, MD. Mashpee art programs Mary Richmond holds art classes for ages 12 through 18 at her Mashpee Commons studio at 27 Fountain St. Classes include clay, pen and ink, watercolor on location, drawing and more.
