The Women 's Guild of Our Lady of

Supper to help prevent
homelessness
The Dennis Yarmouth Ecumenical
Council to Prevent Homelessness will
hold its annual Ham and Bean Supper
beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11,
at St. Pius Tenth Parish Life Center
on Barbara Street in South Yarmouth.
Tickets are $9 for adults, $5 for chil-
dren under 12, and may be purchased
in advance at St. Pius Tenth Rectory
or at the door. Homemade apple pies
are needed for the event, and can be
dropped off that afternoon. For more

Serve food safely
"Servsafe," a training program
in applied food safety for the food
service industry, will be offered Nov.
8, 9, 15 and 16 at the Gus Canty
Community Center in Falmouth. The
14-hour course and certification

Play Santa to a needy
child
Community Action Committee of the
Cape and Islands is launching Make a
Child Happy, designed to help clients
and their children this holiday season.
Similar to the Dress a Doll program,
Make a Child Happy will provide
donors with a child's wish list and
clothing size. Donors can purchase as
much or as little from the list as their
hearts and budgets allow. To learn

Purchase a grocery gift card for use
at Stop & Shop, Shaw's and Country
Garden for the face value of $10 to

move
The Yarmouth Council on Aging, 528

The Falmouth Chamber of Com-

Girls Club
The Boys & Girls Club in Mashpee
is open Monday through Friday from
2 to 6 p.m. Teen nights are held every
weeknight from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday night
the clubhouse is open from 6 to 10
p.m. for teens. Additionally, the club is
open every Saturday starting in Novem-
ber as well as during vacation weeks.
Offerings include Japanese drumming,
photography, homework tutoring,and
help, horseback riding, lacrosse, a
goal-setting program, karate, basketball,
dance, computer, career prep, healthy
living and much more. A satellite Boys
& Girls Club for grades 7 through 12 is
open at Mashpee High School where
there is computer support, games,
tutoring SAT and MCAS prep and much
more available. A Mad Science program
for children in grades K-6 is held on
Mondays at 4 p.m. through the end of
October when acid, dry ice, laser light,
