Annual Service of
Remembering
The Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod
Hospice will hold an Annual Service of Re-
membering, for family and friends of those who
have received the agency's services,Sunday at
2 p.m. at West Parish church on Route 149 in
West Barnstable.
World Community Day set
World Community Day, sponsored by
Church Women United and the Women of
Reformed Judaism, will take place at Cape
Cod Synagogue, 145 Winter St., Hyannis on
Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
With a theme of "Signs of Healing," speakers
will include Cantor Bruce Malin and Carolyn
Hebert. Rabbi David Freelund and Dr. Marc
Walcutt will perform musical selections after
lunch. To register, mail a check for $10 (in-

Hebrew classes to begin
The Cape Cod Synagogue is offering free
classes in Hebrew as part of the continent-
wide campaign, "Read Hebrew America." The
five-week program will be held Wednesday
evenings beginning Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m. The
course is designed to teach the Hebrew al-
phabet and basic reading skills to Jews with
little or no background in the language. For

Discussion and mediation
Spirit Journey Philosophical/metaphysical
discussion and meditation group meets on
Saturdays from 10to 11:30 a.m. at the Winslow
House of First Parish Brewster Church, Route

Meditation offered for
beginners
The Cape Sangha, aZen Buddhist meditation
group, meets Sundays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at
the Old Schoolhouse on Route 6A in Barnstable
village. All are welcome, and basic instruction
in meditation is offered to beginners.
Zen Center presents weekly
meditation
TheCapeCodZenCenter hasweeklymeditation
practice at the Unitarian Church of Barnstable,
Barnstable village on Route 6A. The Tuesday
morning group meets at 8 for meditation in the
RE area downstairs. There is meditation instruc-
tion on Fridays at 6:40 p.m. in the library and a
Friday EveningGroup meets inthe library, behind
the sanctuary, at 7 for meditation. There are also
retreats, field trips to the Providence Zen Center
