Falmouth Artists Guild
An open juried show hangs through
Oct. 16 at the guild, 311 Rear Main

Mary Richmond holds art classes
for ages 12 through 18 at her stu-

Classes include clay, pen and ink,
watercolor on location, drawing and

Orleans

Association and Museum
See the exhibit and tour homes
designed by modern architects such

through Oct. 15 at the museum, 460

Eastham Painters' Guild
Members of the Eastham Painters' Guild
exhibit their works at the Old School-
house Museum, across from the National
Seashore Visitors' Center in Eastham. The
next show is Nov. 24 and 25 at the United
Methodist Church on Route 6A.
Mashpee artists
reception
The BFW Gallery, 28 North Street in
Mashpee Commons, hosts an artists
reception Oct. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. for
Alison Vernon who will be displaying her
Farmscapes. Animals, Barns & Farms
works. The work is up through Nov. 3.
Creative Arts Center
Members of the Creative Arts Center,
Crowell Road in Chatham, will take
part in a sacrifice art sale Oct. 7 from
9 a.m. to noon when their work will be
slashed to make room for more pieces.
Fall classes start the week of Oct. 9
and include such offerings as color
mixing, free style painting, more.
11 artists exhibit
A group of painters from the Eas-
twind Gallery in Orleans exhibit their
works through Nov. 5 in the lobby at
the Academy of Performing Arts, 120
Main St. in Orleans, during the run
of Pirates of Penzance. Among the
artists are Liz Hardy, Julie Blanchard,
Florence Green and others.
Falmouth exhibition
Members of the Falmouth Art-
ists Guild exhibit at Highfield Hall in
Falmouth through Oct. 16. An exhibit
of marine life works hangs Oct. 17
through Nov. 2. An opening reception
is held Oct. 22 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Contemporary glass on
display
The Sandwich Glass Museum holds
an exhibit of glasswork by Benton
Jones through Nov. 1.
Heritage Museums and
Gardens
The museums and gardens are
open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
in Sandwich, where the shell work
of Evelyn Way Kendall is on exhibit
along with "The Automobile Comes
to Cape Cod" vignette. Check out
the 1899 Winton and the 1908 Sears
Surry, the 1904 Curved Dash Olds
and others. There's also an exhibit of
sea paintings by Charles Robertson
Patterson on display through Oct. 30.

CCMA
Adult studio classes offered at the
Cape Cod Museum of Art are still life
oil painting, stained glass, bas-relief
sculpture, digital photography, con-
temporary film, more. Call for details.
Programs offered include multi-media,
fairy tale, painting, drawing, ocean ex-
plorers, masks, collage, face painting,
Chinese water brush, finger painting,
still life oil painting, cartooning for
adults, art history, assemblage, stained
glass, enameling, weaving and more.
An exhibit of nature prints by Ernst
Haeckel is on display through Nov.
16. Drawing, art history, calligraphy,
assemblage, figure drawing and much
more offered this fall. Book artist Rose-
mary Simpkins has created a sculptural
bookwork as a memorial to the Twin
Towers destroyed on 9/11. It is on
display through Nov. 5. The Printmak-
ers of Cape Cod exhibit through Dec.
10. Jn conjunction with the exhibit
there will be an exhibit of prints from
the last 500 years. Guided tours of
the museum Thursdays at 2 p.m.,
Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and
Sundays at 1 p.m. The sixth annual
house tour is held Oct. 7 from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m. Tickets at the museum and
Puritan Clothing. Members' and Artists'
reception for the fall exhibitions Oct. 13
from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The museum is
located on route 6A in Dennis. Works
from the permanent collection of The
Art Students League of New York are
on exhibit Oct. 8 through Dec. 3. Call

Reinvigorated Cotuit Bird
Club meets Oct. 11
The Cotuit Bird and Garden Club
welcomes a professional from Country
Garden in Hyannis for a talk and dem-
onstration on dish gardens Oct. 11.
The club meets the second Wednesday
of each month at 10 a.m. at the Cotuit
Library on Main Street. The meeting

the Route 44 rotary in Middleboro at

walk Oct. 19 out of Marstons Mills

An intergenerational program at the

The Finnish-American Society of
