Ongoing book sales are Tuesdays
and Thursdays from 1:30 to 4 p.m. and

The Friends of the Osterville Village
Library sponsors a used book sale
every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon
as well as the first and third Saturdays
of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Pre-school stories and activities for
ages three to five Tuesdays from 1:30
to 2:15 p.m. To pre-register, call 508-

Barnes & Noble
Tuesday toddler story time is at 10
a.m. with preschool storytime ev-
ery Wednesday at 11 a.m.; then on
Fridays there is a special story time
for school-age children at 7 p.m. A
book club focusing on personal growth
and spirituality meets at 9:30 a.m. the
second Wednesday of the month.
Cotuit Library
Story times at the Cotuit Library are
Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Wednes-
days at 2:15 p.m. when pre-schoolers
are welcome for stories, songs and
crafts.
Inkwell Bookstore
A quilting group meets on select
Fridays; then on Thursdays at 6:30
p.m. a knitting group meets. All events

The Marstons Mills Public Library
invites children of all ages to weekly
story hours on Tuesdays at 10 a.m.
Also on Tuesdays, at 4:15 p.m., there
is a story hour for children in pre-
school through grade 2, crafts includ-
ed. Grades 4 through 7 are invited to
play board games from 4 to 6 p.m.
Eastham Public Library
The Eastham Public Library has
weekly storytime Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
for children up to age 5. A craft ses-
sion follows. The library also hosts a
monthly "Magic The Gathering" trading
card game program for ages 11 and
up the first Tuesday of each month
from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. All are free, but
you must sign up in advance.

Turn your art into cash
The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod
presents the 11* Making Art, Making
a Living one-day conference held this
year on Nov. 4 at Cape Cod Com-
munity College, Route 132 in West
Barnstable. Targeted subjects include
grant writing, copyright issues, con-
tracts, marketing, promotion and more.

Art association's offerings
An open juried exhibition runs
through Oct. 9 at the Cape Cod Art
Association. The "Colors of Fall"
exhibition is up through Sept. 30
(open-juried show). Children's art
classes include Art for Mommy & Me

We Love: Art for New Readers (ages
3-6), offered Tuesdays and Fridays; Art
Discovery (ages 3-4), offered Thursday
mornings and afternoons; and Satur-
day Art Discovery (ages 5-7 and 8-10).

What's up at the Cahoon?
"Consider the Source: Influences
on Ralph and Martha Cahoon's Early
Paintings" is the latest exhibition at
the Cahoon Museum of American
Art on Route 28 in Cotuit. The show,
which runs through Oct. 1, is the first
Cahoon exhibition at the museum in
two years. The museum offers docent
tours every Friday at 11 a.m. Classes
include Sailor's Valentine, folk paint-
ing, watercolor, bird carving, and more.

tion on Currier & Ives at 11 a.m. today.
