LastThursdaytheteamswept Falmouth 30. posting scores of 25-5, 25-14, and 25-11. Putting forth a solid back row performance were Allie Appleman and Marissa Pita, whose dynamic combination brought in 34 service points. Pita added nine digs. Natalie Cohen, Stephanie Bristol and Kara CuUen domi- nated the front lines with 15 kills.Teammate Erin Johnson netted 22 assists. On Monday the team trav- eled to D-Y for another 3-0 sweep over the Dolphins. Cullen, Cohen and Bristol once again were tops in kills, with Appleman turning in seven aces. Johnson and Pita had three aces each. In the setter position Aman- da Parker garnered 22 assists, contributingto the 25-8,25-14, and 25-8 victory. The IRaiders varsity field hockey team has had a roller- coaster week,facing their first loss of the season. On Monday the team traveled to South Yarmouthto square off against the D-YDolphins, dropping the game 3-1. Kristen Logan scored Barn- stable's only goal of the af- ternoon with less than seven minutes to go in the game. On Tuesday the Raiders again took to the road, traveling to Attleboro where they rallied back from the previous days' defeat to take Attleboro 1-0. Meaghan Delaney earned Barnstable 's sole and win- ning goal during the first half on a cross from Lynn Donaghue , while Danielle Cotellessa turned in eight saves, preventing Attleboro from scoring.The winmarked Cotellessa's fifth shutout for the season and brings BHS to 5-1-1. Defensively, Barnstable 's midfielders turned in stellar performances,with Samantha Caplice playing aparticularly good game.
