But if you are talking to Patrick Mulcahy of the Organic Lawn Company of Barnstable, the subj ect is soil biology and organic lawn care. Mulcahy has run a landscaping business for the past 15 years, but said it was not until he was certified by the Northeast Organic Farmer 's Association (NOFA) two years ago that he fully understood that organic land- scaping and gardening is far more than just utilizing a handful of organic products . "It is science and landscaping coming together. It is a full awareness of soil science , soil biology and soil tests. It is matching the plant to the right soil," Mulcahy said.
