Bless these little creatures
The 19th Annual Blessing of the Animals is
held Sept. 23 at the West Yarmouth Congre-
gational Church at Route 28 and Lewis Road.
The blessing is at 10 a.m., when "animals of
all denominations are welcome."
Mission conference in
Centerville
Several missionary leaders gather to share
their experiences and insights Sept. 23 through
Oct. 1 at Christ Chapel, 1200 Old Stage Road
in Centerville. A chowder fest kicks off things
Saturday night at 6 p.m. followed by a children's
program and discussions. The weekend contin-
ues with talks by Paul Martindale, Director of
Ministry and Training for Arab World Missions;
Sondra Sottile discussing churches around the

Women's annual assembly
The Church Women United of Cape Cod holds
its Annual Assembly Sept.30 at St. David's Epis-

Meditation offered for
beginners
The Cape Sangha,aZen Buddhist meditation
group, meets Sundays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at
the Old Schoolhouse on Route 6A in Barnstable
village. All are welcome, and basic instruction
in meditation is offered to beginners.
Zen Center presents weekly
meditation
The CapeCod Zen Center has weekly meditation
practice at the Unitarian Church of Barnstable,
Barnstable village on Route 6A. The Tuesday
morning group meets at 8for meditation inthe RE
areadownstairs. There is meditation instruction
on Fridays at 6:40 p.m. inthe library anda Friday
Evening Group meets in the library, behind the
sanctuary, at 7 for meditation. There are also
