High on the list of engineering achievements on the new Bulck Special
is the design of the combined bumper and grille. Developed by Bulck
and offered on the Special for the first time, this innovation was ac-
complished by placing the verticle bumper grille bars forward of the
single-piece bumper. Two bomb-shaped bumper guards, which also house
the parking lamps, are mounted on the bumper.

HYANNIS AIRPORT
(Barnstable Municipal Airport)
With the summer season over
and beautiful September weather
surrounding us the air traffic to
Hyannls continues to remain at a
high level. Our long distance visi-
tor of this week was Lou Stephun
of Ft. Worth , Texas, in the Ritchie
Bros, twin-engine ' Beechcraft to
visit with friends in Harwlchport.
Wiley Reynolds of Ostervllle and
West Palm Beach , Florida, depart-
ed Tuesday on a business trip to
New York ln his Bonanza. J. J.
White's Lockheed Electra was in
for the first time this season to
pick the family and fly them to
Winchester County Airport , New
York. J. J. has been without a
pilot for his Electra this season
so he has been making his trips
to business in MB Falrchild '24. It
is equipped with floats so he has
made quite u time-saving by be-
ing able to land ln the bay at Oy-
ster Harbors and park or moor
his plane right at his front door.
Cape Air Service has reduced Its
personnel for the slack winter sea-
son, so RUBS IS now chief pilot and
Chet Henderson assists when extra
flights pop up. Mr. Robert Backe-
land chartered the Navlon to fly
his ailing daughter to Glens Falls,
Now York , last week , then RUBS
returned there to fly them back to '
Provlncetown last Saturday. Harry
Keller of Harwlchport was flown
to Nantucket Saturduy for a wed-
ding by RUBS and after the wed-
ding flew him on to New Haven.
Chet Henderson flew Mr. and Mrs.
Orlowskl of Eastham to Nantucket.
Saturday and brought them back
just before dark ln tho twin-engine
Cessna.
Ralph Thacher, former Cape Air
Service GI student, hired the 120
Cessna Friday for, a business trip
to Connecticut.
Ben Baxter was flown to Boston
twice this week in the Navlon to
important meetings.
Sunday, the B-18 Able Mabel ,
was dusted off and carried the
heavy load of newspapers to the
Islands with RUBS at the console.
John Barnard of Harwlchport
has completed the written examin-
ations for his commercial pilot's
ticket and Is now ready to take hlB
flight check with CAA Examiner
Al. Sherman.
Robert K. Edwards of South
Yarmouth completed his private
pilot's flight test with Al , so now
the family has two pilots as
father George obtained his li-
cense over a year ago. They both
belong to the Cape Cod Flying Club
and were given all Uielr instruc-
tion by, the club . Instructor For-
rest Coggeshall .
Cape Air Service student, Fred
Tolley, completed his flight course
In record time and after an hour
In the air with Eixaminer Al was
given his private license.
Colin Woodbury, a new member
of the Cape Cod Flying Club , and
another student of Forrest's, satis-
fled Ex.' Al. that he knew all the
maneuvers of a private pilot and
got his private ticket last Sunday.
Northeast Airlines Station Man-
ager Hartley Hutchins, reports
that after Saturday, September
24th , the night flights from Hyan-
nis to Boston and New York will
be cancelled. He also reports that
the extra section flight to New
York will be operated for the last
time Sunday night and If there is
time available after its arrival
