Cape Cod Conservatory
Registration is open for the Cape
Cod Conservatory Fine and Per-
forming Arts classes. Programs
offered include studio art classes,
an instrument sampler for young
children, "Broadway for Girls," "Art in
the Afternoon," monotype, drawing
and more. Students of all ages are
welcome. Nancy Pettibone's students
from this fall's programs are invited to
submit artwork in a competition. The
winner's work will be on the cover of

Heritage Gardens and
Museums
The museums and gardens are
open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
in Sandwich, where the shell work
of Evelyn Way Kendall is on exhibit
along with "The Automobile Comes
to Cape Cod" vignette. Check out
the 1899 Winton and the 1908 Sears
Surry, the 1904 Curved Dash Olds
and others. There's also an exhibit of
sea paintings by Charles Robertson
Patterson.
Minimal clothing,
maximum viewing
An exhibit of contemporary nude
art is held at the Winstanley-Roarke
Fine Art Gallery, 601 Main St. in Den-
nis, through Sept. 29.
Exhibits and more at
CCMA
As part of the 25 exhibits planned
for its 25th year, the Cape Cod Muse-
um of Art in Dennis is showing works
by Joseph E. Enneking (1881-1942),
a well-known regional impressionist
landscape painter, represented in major
museums. Throughout the year works
by Cape teachers Charles Hawthorne,
Henry Henche, R. H. Ives Gammell
and Hans Hoffman will be on display.
Works by their students, such as Hilda
Neily, Sal Del Deo, Haynes Ownby,
Harry Holl, Arnold Geissbuhler, Varu-
jan Boghosian and Robert Douglas
Hunter, to name a few, will also be
exhibited, all in honor of the 25th an-
niversary.
Adult studio classes offered are still
life oil painting, stained glass, bas-relief
sculpture, digital photography, con-
temporary film, more. Call for details.
Programs offered include multi-media,
fairy tale, painting, drawing, ocean ex-
plorers, masks, collage, face painting,
Chinese water brush, finger painting,
still life oil painting, cartooning for
adults, art history, assemblage, stained
glass, enameling, weaving and more.
Frances McLaughlin and Sideo From-
boluti exhibit through Oct. 1. An exhibit
of nature prints by Ernst Haeckel is
on display Sept. 16 through Nov. 16.
Still life painting class with Katherine
Hartley begins Sept. 18 at 12:30 p.m.
Cartooning with Matt Kemp starts Sept.
18 at 6:30 p.m. Drawing, art history,
calligraphy,assemblage, figure drawing
and much more offered this fall. Eric
Hart leads an eight-week women in film
class featuring eight actresses begin-
ning Sept. 21. Book artist Rosemary
Simpkins has created a sculptural
bookwork as a memorial to the Twin
towers destroyed 9/11. It is on display
