New community grief support groups The Grief Support Center of Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod has announced that new grief and loss support groups are forming for the fall season. A be- reavement group meets beginning Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. at the offices and on Sept. 18 an adult loss of parent or sibling meets at 4:30 p.m., also at the offices at 270 Communication Way in Indepen- dence Park in Hyannis. Another group is forming on Oct. 4 at 1:30 p.m. when the issues of an adult loss of a child will be addressed. Call 508-957-0307. A DVD for children who stutter A new DVD starring children who stutter is available at the Centerville Public Library and the West Dennis Library. The video is aimed at acquainting children who stutter with others who also stutter and are handling the challenges. Update on hearing devices and more The latest in hearing aids and coping strategies will be dis- cussed Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Cape and Islands on Service Road in Sandwich. CPR certification offered A CPR certification class is held Sept. 23 from 9 am. to 1 p.m. at the Cape Cod Human Services building, 460 W. Main St. in Hyannis. Daily Christian recovery group The Christian Recovery Fel- lowship holds a daily meeting on Monday from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army Worship and Services Center on North Street in Hyannis. The open-discussion, Christ-based meeting is designed to provide a safe, confidential environment for those "searching, struggling with alcohol, drugs, hurts, habits , shortcomings or hang-ups of all kinds."
