-This introductory course will
giveteachers a foothold on the
endless possibilities of digital
imaging. Skills to be taught
include: cropping, scaling, re-
sizing, and importing images.
Instructor Andrew Newman is
a renowned graphic designer

Totally Trebuchet: Exciting
Engagement in Engineering
for grades 5-8 -In this course
students will study the con-
struction of a giant medieval
trebuchet before assembling
onethemselvesinteamformat.
With their group-constructed
trebuchets, teams will then
launch a full-scale assault on
opposing castles! Instructor
Michael Bastoni is a technol-
ogy instructor and founder
of the GEARS Educational
Systems.

seminarset
Matt Carpenter, president
of College Funding Services,
will host a workshop on that
subject Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. at
Barnstable High School.
WOW on Wednesdays
at CC Children's
Museum
The Cape Cod Children's
Museum in Mashpee has a
WOW of a program - Wonder
onWednesdays, acreative arts
series for Cape Cod special
needs children and their fami-
lies. The museum will be open
exclusivelyfor thisprogram for
five consecutive Wednesdays
between 4 and 5:30p.m. begin-
ning on Sept. 27.
Five gifted facilitators will
present sessions on puppetry,
yoga, storytelling, drama and
crafts. A professional will also
be available each week to an-
swer questions from parents.
This program marks the
beginning of collaboration
between the museum, The
GenesisFund,andtheTherapy
and PerformingArtsProgram.
The fee for the programis $62,
with scholarships available.

lected to serve as the Admin-
istrator of the Waldorf School
ofCape Cod inBourne.Milsted
brings with him 30 years of
teaching, administrative and

inLondon,England.Milstedre-
cently moved to Pocasset with
hiswife, anative Cape Codder,
and his three children.
The Waldorf School of Cape
Cod was founded in 1984 and
provides a Waldorf-based
education to children from

First Baptist Church considers
future of its stained glass windows

NEW LOOK - With tall bushes along the sidewalk removed and a
new sign, First Baptist commands its corner at Main Street and High
School Road. .
They aren't the kind of
intricate, highly-decorated
stained glass windows you'd
find in Washington's Nation-
al Cathedral. They're simple
in design, straightforward
in their messages. You don't
need an art critic to figure
them out.
Come to think of it, the
eight stained glass windows
of First Baptist Church in
Hyannis are a lot like two
of its departed and deeply
missed members, Eugenia
Fortes and Ruth Rusher.
If those community activ-
ists had passed on in the
1890s, someone might have
suggested raising memorial
windows for them. But this
is 2006, and the question for
the church now is how to
preserve not just the memo-
ries but also the crumbling
glass memorials for Dr. J.
Wells McGregor, who died in
