Cod Conservatory Fine and Performing

Whale Trail

painted whale sculptures located

display
The Sandwich Glass Museum holds
an exhibit of glasswork by Benton

A reception for an historic antique
map show is held Sept. 8 from 6 to
8 p.m. at the BFW Gallery, 28 North

Heritage Gardens and
Museums
The museums and gardens are
open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
in Sandwich, where the shell work
of Evelyn Way Kendall is on exhibit
along with "The Automobile Comes
to Cape Cod" vignette. Check out
the 1899 Winton and the 1908 Sears
Surry, the 1904 Curved Dash Olds
and others. There's also an exhibit of
sea paintings by Charles Robertson
Patterson.
Wildlife art on display in
Brewster
Oil and watercolor paintings by
wildlife painter Barry Van Dusen are
on display at the Cape Cod Museum
of Natural History, Route 6A in Brew-
ster, through Sept. 15.
New exhibits and more at
CCMA
As part of the 25 exhibits planned
for its 25th year, the Cape Cod Muse-
um of Art in Dennis is showing works
by Joseph E. Enneking (1881-1942),
a well-known regional impressionist
landscape painter, represented in major
museums. Throughout the year works
by Cape teachers Charles Hawthorne,
Henry Henche, R. H. Ives Gammell
and Hans Hoffman will be on display.
Works by their students, such as Hilda
Neily, Sal Del Deo, Haynes Ownby,
Harry Holl, Arnold Geissbuhler, Varu-
jan Boghosian and Robert Douglas
Hunter,to name a few,will also be
exhibited, all in honor of the 25th an-
niversary.
Adult studio classes offered are still
life oil painting, stained glass, bas-relief
sculpture, digital photography, con-
temporary film, more. Call for details.
Exhibition of MIT scientists and artists
sponsored by the Highlands Center
through Sept. 3. Programs offered
include multi-media, fairy tale, painting,
drawing, ocean explorers, masks, col-
lage, face painting, Chinese water brush,
finger painting, still life oil painting,
cartooning for adults, art history, assem-
blage, stained glass, enameling, weaving
and more. Frances McLaughlin and
Sideo Fromboluti exhibit through Oct. 1.
The 19th
annual fine arts auction is held
Sept. 10 from 5 to 9 p.m. Live/silent
auction, drinks, food, more, with Robert
