First Church of
Christ, Scientist
The Bible Lesson-Sermon will

Seventh Day
Adventist Church
The SDA Church runs the
Bayberry Christian School for
elementary grades. Separate
Sabbath School Bible studies are
heldfor children andadults at 9:30
a.m. every Saturday followed by
Worship Service at 10:50 a.m.
On the first and third Sabbaths
of each month, a potluck dinner
is offered following the service.
Wednesdaynight PrayerMeetings
are held at 7. The SDA church is
pastored by Pastor Mark Gagnon,

South Congregational
Church
Worship is held at 10 a.m. in
Centerville. Church school for
children in preschool through 8th
grade is available and the Cokes-
bury Exploring Faith Curriculum is
followed. Nursery care during the
worship hour is available. A cof-
fee hour follows the service. The
Sunday morning Adult Education
and Conversations group meets
at 9 with Women's Fellowship.
The church offers adult and fam-
ily choirs.
Unitarian Church of
Barnstable
Lawrence Brown givesthe hom-

Village.All are welcome to join the
social hour after the services.
United Methodist
Church
A worship service is held at the
57 Pond St. church in Osterville at
8 a.m. in the Blaine TaylorMemo-
rial Chapel. The 10 a.m. service
is in the church sanctuary. Com-
munion served at both services.

10 a.m. service. Sunday school

Unity Church of the
Light
All are welcome at the service
at 10 a.m. in the Yarmouth Senior

West Parish of
Barnstable
The Rev. Reed Baer preaches at
West Parish of Barnstable (United

RELIGIOUS NOTES
New senior minister for
Federated of Hyannis
The Rev. Dr. John A. Terry will preach his first
sermon as Senior Minister of the Federated
Church of Hyannis Sunday. He and his wife,
Elise, have recently moved to Centerville from
New Hampshire, where he was pastor of The
Congregational Church of Hollis for 14 years.
Services are at 8 and 10 a.m. at the Main
Street church.
Interfaith coalition to
commemorate 9/11
The Cape Cod Interfaith Coalition will com-
memorate the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11
tragedy with a prayer service Sept. 11 from 7 to
9 p.m. at Cape CodAcademy, 50 Osterville-West
Barnstable Road in Osterville. Music, prayers,
prayer circle, memories and more.
Meditation offered for
beginners
The Cape Sangha, aZen Buddhist meditation
group, meets Sundays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at
the Old Schoolhouse on Route 6A in Barnstable
Village. All are welcome, and basic instruction
in meditation is offered to beginners.
Zen Center presents weekly
meditation
TheCapeCodZenCenter hasweeklymeditation
practice at the Unitarian Church of Barnstable,
Barnstable Village on Route 6A. The Tuesday
morning group meets at 8 for meditation in the
RE area downstairs. There is meditation instruc-
tion on Fridays at 6:40 p.m. in the library and a
Friday Evening Group meets inthe library, behind
the sanctuary, at 7 for meditation. There are also
retreats, field trips to the Providence Zen Center
