Talk About Hobbies!
One of the most thrilling, com-
paratively new sports of today Is
water skiing or aquaplaning. The
only requirements are a power-
boat, water skis, a normal sense of
balance and knowing how to swim.
The sport has become most pop-
ular down In the winter playland of
Florida. However, it has begun to
take hold in our summer playland
of the Cape, with the advent of
Joseph Puccia, who has taken pu-
pils this summer and introduced
them to the thrills of water skiing.
Mr. Puccia built his boal , "The
Naiad ," last winter in Watortown,
He brought it down tho Charles
River into Boston, thence to Hy-
annis via Woods Hole In May. Tho
boat (a beautiful thing to behold),
is nineteen feet long, has a 140-
horsepower motor and can build up
to a speed of 30 to 36 miles per
hour which is mighty fast ou the
water. Mr . Puccia also made und
designed his own water skis and
aquaplanes.
His first pupils were the four
children of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley
11. Coleman , owners of the Park
Square Market. Pictured above are
Carol, 10; Jean , 14, and Belty, 18.
The fourth , Bob, was not present
when this picture was taken, but
assures this writer that water ski-
ing is not as hard as It looks, and
is "loads of fun. " We think the
photograph clearly shows that It
looks like tun , and the girls are
certainly enjoying themselves. In
fact , several people who saw this
photograph , suggested that one of
them , anyway, should bo entered
for "MI BB Cape Cod of 1950" title.
Joseph Puccia started this hob-
by of skiing on top of the water at
high speed, through u lovo of boats.
Ho owns four, one of which is well
known In Cape waters , his sailboat ,
"Tho Flamingo," on which he takes
pleasure CVUIHOS around the harbor.
Many year-round Cupe Codders, as
well as summer visitors huvo shown
a keen Interest In Mr. Pucciu's
hobby and liuve become ouger to
liavo him teach them how to water
ski. Mr . Puccia is planning to con-
tinue his lessons next summer.
if you folks would like to huvo a
llrst-liund demonstration of tho urt
of aquaplaning, Mr. Puccia and ills
four Coleman pupils , are going to
perform for tho public at the West
Yarmouth town landing next Sun-
day, September 4th—the landing is
at the end of tho street ut Bill
Cox's HOU grille . I'm sure ull of you
would enjoy seeing this demonstra-
tion , and once you do will be con-
vinced that there Is nothing quite
like sailing atop the water at top
speed behind a good , fast , power
boat. So—it's a dale for Sunday
with Mr, Puccia and his hobby, bo-
tween 10 and 12 o'clock.—Carl W.

pure copper into suitable thickness
and shape for making the bracelets.
This method also assures copper In
its most porous form , because it
rebuilds the molecular structure in
its natural molecular formation.
At the recent meeting of medical
authorities , it was claimed there
is no cure for nrthritls. The fact
that many people aro trying any
plaslble Idea for relief lod us to
offer our electrolytic copper brace-
lets to anyone wishing to try them.
We have made up sketches of the
vurious designs and widths with
prices and description , which any-
one may have on request. When
bracelets are ordered they will bo
shipped promptly on receipt of
check or money order, and If not
fully satisfactory the money will be
returned .
It Is better to wear two, one on
each wrist , and wearing them all
night will bring relief more quickly.
No one seems to know what hap-
pens, but they say after a month
wearing, they feel much better both
mentally and physically.
Instead of putting chemicals into
the blood, this seems to draw the
acids out. It fits in with a famous
qutatlon from Mollere that, "All
men die ot their remedies and not
from their illnesses.
