Prof. Webster.—The Boston Transcri pt has
learned some facts which go to show the utter falsity
f Prof. Webster's confession as to the disposition of
_ir Parkman 's body, and by which he attempted to
show his want of premeditation in the matter. It
g,vs "a student at the Medical College has, for the
first
'
time, disclosed that at the time of the murder,
while he was in the dissecting room entry, he distinct-
ly heard sounds of something being dragged over
the stairs leading to Prof. Webster's lower laborato-
rv_which he has now no doubt were thus produced
by the decent of Dr. Parkman 's bod y.
An examination of the sink in the upper laborato-
ry, described by Prof. Webster as the one he used
for the dismemberment of the body, demonstrates its
positive incapacity for the purpose, it being of a very
small size.
And furthermore , the hand hose which Prof. Web-
ster speaks of in his letter of explanation to the
Council ,as used by him to convey water to said sink ,
was measured by office r O. II. Spun- and found to
be a couple of feet too short for that object."
Fatal Catj suamy.— Three men , named Win.
Cole, John Vickery, and James Vickery , (the two
last brothers) lost their lives Thursday in conse-
quence of inhaling noxious air , while engaged in
clearing out a cistern under the store of Mr. John
B. Hanson , 5 Long wharf. About a month since
the two deceased brothers emptied the same cistern
without any inconvenience ; but about a fortni ght
«iiice, the tide burst into several cellars on the wharf ,
and again filled the cistern. Yesterday morning the
three who lost their lives were emp loyed to clean it
out, and had partia lly accomplished the work , when
Cole descended by a ladder for the purpose of pas-
sing the contents of the cistern up to those above.—
Hearing nothing from him ,John Vickery descended
to see what was the matter , but he also remained si-
lent. James Vickery followed the two others , and
it was soon ascertained that he was insensible. Af-
tor the lapse of a few moments, a fourth man was
lowered into the cistern ,having a rope firml y adjust-
ed under his arms, and with much difficulty he suc-
ceeded in attaching cords to the others , who were
drawn out. Cole and John Vickery were found to
be (lead when taken out. James Victory exhibited
some signs of life , and after being partiall y resusci-
•ated, was removed to the Hospit al , by the ad vice of
Drs. J. Bigelow, and J. W. Warren , who were in
•'tendance , and rendered all the aid in their power,
tames Vickery died soon after reaching tlie Hospi-
tal.—[Boston ,Dailv Advertiser , 2d hist.
Trying to Come it Over the Sympathies
'F THE CounT.—In the police court recentl y, Ann
«aker was brought up for snatching a $2 bill from
. ichael Kagin 's counter , Hamilton street. Theev-
Wence was so clear that she could not muster cheek
enough to deny the theft, but she managed to inti-
mate 'hat-she was in an "interesting situation ,"' and
not a fit subject for criminal correction. The offi-
cer who had her in charge noticed that she had
greatly increased in size since he locked her up on
p
Preceeding night. So here was a new matter
or consideration. One of the officers , who is a

BILIARY OBSTRUCTION !
This deadl y foe to human comfort and health , occurs
mostly at the opening of the spring ; althoug h not con-
fined wholl y to that season. It is attended with general
Languor, Listlessncss and Inertia. If the Obstruction
of the Biliary Ducts bo not removed , Diseased Liver is
the consequence , and Death the ultimate ! To avoid all
th ese, Dr. Corbctt offers the onl y Curative Panacea
known.
HEAR WHAT SAYS '
Joseph Loowis, Ksq., the well known and gentlemanly Con-
ductor on the Boston and Po well Kail lioad.
Boston, January 2d , 1850.
During the last spring I was very Bilious. My stom-
ach was very much out of order , indeed to such an extent
that I was hardl y able to leave my room.
This comp laint commenced more than a year ago.
and con ti n ued dail y to grow worse, until I commenced
taki ng Dr. Corbett's Syrup of Sarsaparilla when my
sufferings were effectuall y dispelled. At once I con-
tinued to improve in health until the whole active
healthy tone of my stomach has effectually been restored
me. I have gained twenty-five pounds in weight since
I commenced taking this Syr up, and feel the fullest con-
fid ence in saying, that by this Medicine , and this Med-
icine only , was I relieved from suffering and brought
again to health. In my opin ion it is invaluable !
Tr ulv you r obedient servant ,
JOSEPH L00MIS.
Such testimony as tins is invaluable ; as it comes
from one known f olly to the public. And who, in gen-
erous and sympathizing regard for the sufferings of
thers , has no false delicacy as to stating his own case
and cure.
