Storytimes at Eastham
Public Library
The Eastham Public Library has
weekly storytime every Friday at
10:30 a.m. for children up to age 5. A
craft session follows. The library also
hosts a monthly "Magic The Gather-
ing" trading card game program for
ages 11 and up the first Tuesday of
each month from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m.
All are free , but you must sign up in

Works by Zhang Jing Sheng are

Cape Cod Art Association
The Association, 3480 Route 6A
in Barnstable, is offering courses in
watercolor painting, oil painting, life
drawing, digital photography and
more. Student members ages 14 to 22
are welcome for a membership fee of
$15 a year, which includes discounts

An exhibit of oil-on-canvas paintings
by Connie Casey will be on display at

What's up at the Cahoon?
The Cahoon Museum of American

Cahoon paintings reveal
their sources
"Consider the Source: Influences on
Ralph and Martha Cahoon's Early
Paintings" is the latest exhibition at the
Cahoon Museum on Route 28 in Cotuit.
The show runs Aug. 8 through Oct. 1,
with an opening reception Aug. 11 from
5 to 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served,
and Bob Schneider will play the piano.
The show is the first Cahoon exhibition
at the museum in two years.

Whale Trail

Heritage Gardens and

wich , where the shell work of Evelyn
Way Kendall is on exhibit along with
"The Automobile Comes to Cape Cod"
vignette. Check out the 1899 Winton
and the 1908 Sears Surry, the 1904

Charles Robertson Patterson.
Wildlife art on display in
Brewster
Oil and watercolor paintings by
wildlife painter Barry Van Dusen are on
display at the Cape Cod Museum of
Natural History, Route 6A in Brewster,
through Sept. 15.
New exhibits and more at
CCMA
As part of the 25 exhibits planned
for its 25th year, the Cape Cod
Museum of Art in Dennis is showing
works by Joseph E. Enneking (1881-
1942), a well-known regional impres-
sionist landscape painter, represented
in major museums. A retrospective
of works by William Littlefield is on
display through Aug. 27.
Throughout the year works by Cape
teachers Charles Hawthorne, Henry
Henche, R. H. Ives Gammell and Hans
Hoffman will be on display. Works by
their students, such as Hilda Neily, Sal
Del Deo, Haynes Ownby, Harry Holl,
Arnold Geissbuhler, Varujan Boghosian
and Robert Douglas Hunter, to name a
few, will also be exhibited, all in honor
of the 25th anniversary.
Adult studio classes offered are still
life oil painting, stained glass, bas-
relief sculpture, digital photography,
contemporary film, more. Education
seminars are held Aug. 4 through 6
and Aug. 18 and 20. Call for details.

HIGH TECH ART - A cutting edge exhibition of the work of the Collision
Collective Isbeing presented at Cape Cod Museum of Art incollaboration with
the Highlands Center, Inc. (HCI). The Collision Collective, a group of MIT and
Boston area artists, was formed in 2002 to showcase art that incorporates
technology.Chris Fitch's TantalusMackerel (Brass, fiberboard, lithotin cans,
garolite XX,misc. hardware,54" x 54") is among the works to be displayed,
HCI hosts an opening reception for the artists and the public on Aug. 21from
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Museum. The show runs from Aug. 13 to Sept. 3.
