background. "People have
been going for years and
years," Drew,said.
Music is not the sole
occurrence of the night,
however. The prestigious
Donna Lynn Yanoff Memo-
rial Scholarship will be
presented to Jacqueline
Reed, a graduating senior
from Mashpee High School.
The scholarship has been
awarded by the MCCC
annually since 1997 to a
Mashpee senior planning to
major in the fine, applied ,
creative , or performing arts,
and is supported by the
generous contribution of
the Yanoff family.
The Mashpee Night at
the Pops is only one of
many events and activities
brought to life by the com-
mittee, which donates more
than $20,000 annually to art
and music programs in the
Mashpee public school sys-
tem, such as in-school po-
etry and theater workshops
and trips to museums.
Free parking will be avail-
able at nearby Mashpee
schools off the Mashpee
rotary and, after 6 p.m. at
Christ the King Church
adjacent to the Commons.
The event is wheelchair
accessible, and concert-go-
ers are encouraged to bring
lawn chairs, blankets, and
picnic dinners to enjoy the
evening. The rain date will
be Sunday, July 30. Tables
for the concert can be re-
