It's Royston Nash's last Mashpee Night at the Pops By Courtney Staples news@barnstablepatriot.com PHOTOS COURTESY OF MASHPEE COMMUNITY CONCERT COMMITTEE NOTABLE TENT - The Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra's music will fill the sails of the big tent at Mashpee Night at the Pops July 29. The 15th annual Mashpee Night at the Pops on July 29 marks conductor Royston Nash's last performance at Mashpee Commons with the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra. Nash's departure is "hard for us to imagine," said Steve Innis, president of the Mashpee Community Concert Committee. "He symbolizes all that is this show. Saying goodbye to Royston Nash will clearly be a difficult thing." Concert organizers promise "special surprises," although no hints have been given as to what those may be. Asked if any information was available, committee vice president and commu- nity relations director Fran- ces Drew replied laughingly with a "no." The free concert starts at 7 p.m. at Mashpee Com- mons and concludes with an outstanding fireworks dis- play sponsored by Sherwood Mortgage Corp. The concert committee organizes and funds this occasion with the help of donations from charitable patrons, busi- nesses, and volunteers.
