1:00 p.m. VILLAGE DAY PARADE" Osterville
Historical Society Parade of Antique and Classic Cars
Cars will travel the parade route twice before the band/float
portion of the Parade which will include:
THE BARNSTABLE POLICE DEPARTMENT COLOR
GUARD, "THE HILLS MILLS COMEDY CLOWNS BAND",
"THE COSMO-LEGION BAND OF BROCKTON", (Band
sponsored by the Osterville VillageAssociation),
THE SANDWICH TOWN BAND, (Band sponsored by the
Rotary Club of Osterville),
MANY FLOATS, PARADE CHARACTERS,
CHILDREN'S DECORATED BIKES, and OTHER
ENTERTAINMENT. Parade will assemble at 12:30 across
from the Catholic Church on Wianno Avenue where judging of
the Floats will take place at 12:45, and prizes will be awarded
in the Catholic Church Parking Lot. PARADl
"HAPPY ANNIVERSARY" in honor of the 375h Anniversary
of the Townof Barnstable, the 100"' Anniversary of the "Wianno
Senior"
, the 4ff h Anniversary of oUr own Village Day,and the 40h
Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Osterville.
PARADE ROUTE: Starting at Catholic Church, down
Wianno Ave. to Main St. (by Baptist Church) ~ Main St. to
the Flag Pole ~ left on Parker Rd. to West Bay Rd. ~ left on
West Bay Rd. to Lovell's Ln.
FOLLOWING THE PARADE, THE DIFFERENT
PARADE GROUPS WILL PERFORM AS FOLLOWS:
1:45 ~ 4:00 THE ANTIQUE CARS on display at the
Historical Society Grounds (corner of Parker and West Bay
Rd.)
1:45 ~ 2:15 THE HILLS-MILLS COMEDY CLOWNS
BAND will perform behind the Library, 43 Wianno Avenue,
preceding the "Suspenders"show.
THE SANDWICH TOWN BAND will play in front of
the "Osterville Baptist Church", as they accompany the
"Lowering of the C-O-MM Fire Department Ceremonial
Flag".
2:15 ~ 3:15 "THE SUSPENDERS JUGGLING
TROUPE" behind the Library -following the "Comedy
Clowns".
Other Events
SALE OF RAFFLE TICKETS by the Library Trustees at
the Osterville Village Library for a chance to win a
"MERCEDES CLA 250" . Tickets are $125.00 each or 2 for
$200.00. Tickets may be purchased at the Library (428-5757)
until the drawing on August 23rd at 5:00 p.m. on the Library
Green, 43 Wianno Avenue.
PUBLIC REST ROOMS -IN THE FORM OF "BOUSE
HOUSES" -WILL BE AVAILABLE BEHIND
THE BAPTIST CHURCH , IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
PARKING LOT ON LOVELL'S LANE (FOR
THE PARADE & ROAD RACE) & AT THE OSTERVILLE
HISTORICAL MUSEUM.
