Cape Cod Central Railroad's 'Scenic
Passenger Train' runs through the

train from West Barnstable are sold

Meetinghouse
The historic 1717 Parish Meeting-
house,2049 MeetinghouseWay(Route
149), West Barnstable, is one of two
surviving First Period New England
meetinghouses. Built in 1717 and
authentically restored,the post and
beam structure was the site of Barn-
stable town meetings for more than
130 years and has housed the West
Parish of Barnstable congregation for

Indian Museum
The history and culture of the
Wampanoag from the Stone Age to
the present is detailed in a range of
exhibits.The museum is the only one
in existence devoted exclusively to
Wampanoag history.
The collection displays ancient
artifacts and other Native American
heirlooms forming a chronologi-
cal commentary on life among the
Wampanoag for thousands of years,
including tools,baskets,hunting and
fishing implements, weapons and
domestic utensils. The focal point is
a large diorama depicting a scene
from an earlyWampanoag settlement.
