Having heard them tlirou«h, Governor Reed called the committee on pardons together , and some questions were put to the Rev. A gentleman travelling on horseback "down east" came upon an Irishman who was fencing irr a bar- ren and desolate piece of land. Here is a statement of a case worth y attention , as the most remarkable on record : Messrs. E. Bkixlet & Co.. Boston. Gentlemen : Voluntaril y I render you the followina stat ement, which I beg you broadly to lay before the public , trusting it may teach some who have ' been suffer- ing m health as I have been , how to be relieved. Some eight years since, I was attacked with violent inflamma- tio n of the bowels. Placing m_yself under the hands o( a physician, I adopted his medicines , and thus subdued the inflammation. But comp laints more aggravated th en set in. It seemed after subjugation of pain by opi- ate s I was put under mercurial treatment to check the opiate effects. This left my system in the most derang- ed and suffering condition. " The tone of my stomach entirel y fuil ed.an aecrav ntcd constip ation of the bowels ensued", while my flesh wasted , and a confir med invalid I was unable for any duties of life. Trusting to cure I resulted to Townscnd's and Sands ' Sarsapanlla mix- ture s, but my comp laints daily increased, untd I was at- tacked by occasional bleeding at the lun gs. At this more alarmed than ever , I soug ht Dr. John Ware, of this city , who told me my syste m had been abused by hiMi mercurial treatment , and advised my using Sarsa- paVilla decoction. But persuaded by him , I resorted to the use of '-Corbett 's Shaker Sarsaparilla ," as I saw- it came so reasonabl y acc redited by physicia ns and others. After using this medicine but for some six months, my health was full y restored me. lam able'now to re- turn again to my duties of life , a sound , vigorous and health y man , after having been for some eight years an enfeebled and prostrate suffe rer. By Corbett's Sarsa- parilla alone was my cure effected , and I recommend it to the world , advisi ng th em to avoid mercurials if they would avoid suffer ing. ANDR EW WEISINTIIAL.
