E5°"Among the many blessings attendant upon im-
provements in the social condition and the advance of
our race in i ntelli gence , is the prolongation of human
life. With thc increase of intelli gence has grown up a
knowledge of the elements of health , and a regard for
the m, and coinmciisuratcl y with the strides of science
have we acquired the means of arrestin g disease , and
averti ng it s ravages. Notwithstanding the progress we
have made, statistics show that even now , one sixth of
the whol e populati on die ann uall y of Consumption.
One of the most important discoveries of the ago. in
ameliorating thc condition of this large class of suffer-
ing humanitv, is
DR. WISTAR'S BALSAM OF WILD CHERRY.
Nonda , Livingston Co., N. Y., June 20. 1848.
Mr. S. W. Fowlc—Dear Sir: Prompted by a sense
of gratitud e, for benefits received from the use' of WIS-
TAR'S BALSAM OF WILD CHERRY , I submit
thc following .statement: Previous to my taking the
Wild Cherry, I had been obli ged to give up my busi-
ness in consequence of a severe affection of the lungs.
In this distressed state I was ordered.to try your reme-
dy for CONSUMPTION. I did so , and in the course
of a few weeks, I was restored to comparative good
health , so that I have since been able to attend to ordi-
nary busi ness. Indeed , my present stat e of health far
exceeds my most sanguine expectations.
Yours trulv ,
