Cape Cod Art Association

in Barnstable, is offering courses in
watercolor painting, oil painting, life
drawing, digital photography and
more. Student members ages 14 to
22 are welcome for a membership
fee of $15 a year, which includes

subscription and ability to exhibit and

Children's Art Classes include Art

What's up at the
Cahoon?
The Cahoon Museum of American
Art, 4676 Route 28 in Cotuit, offers
docent tours every Friday at 11 a.m.

Higham are on display through June
25. Artist Edith Vonnegut exhibits her
new works June 20 through July 25.
A reception to meet the artist is June
23 from 5 to 7 p.m. She gives gallery

Guyer Barn Gallery & Arts Center,
South Street in Hyannis hosts a week-
long retrospective in honor of its 20th
anniversary June 17 through 24 when
there will be activities and exhibits for

June 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. Marbeling
demonstration with Susan Marshall, 11
a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 18. On June 19

Cod Conservatory Fine and Perform-

2006 Cape & Islands
Whale Trail
Check out more than 50 hand-
painted whale sculptures located
across Cape Cod through Sept. 16.
Six feet long, the make-believe mam-
mals will be displayed individually or
in pods.
Eastham Painters' Guild
Members exhibit June 24 and
25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Old
Schoolhouse Museum , across from
the National Seashore Visitors' Center
in Eastham. Another show is June 29
through 30 and July 1.
Heritage Gardens and
Museums
The museums and gardens are
open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
in Sandwich, where the shell work
of Evelyn Way Kendall is on exhibit
along with "The Automobile Comes
to Cape Cod" vignette. Check out
the 1899 Winton and the 1908 Sears
Surry, the 1904 Curved Dash Olds
and others. There's also an exhibit of
sea paintings by Charles Robertson
Patterson.
Creative Arts Center
The Creative Arts Center, Crowell
Road in Chatham, hosts art exhi-
bitions, lectures, workshops and

Yarmouth Art Guild
members exhibit
The Yarmouth Art Guild exhibit at
the Cape Cod Cooperative Bank,
Route 6A in Yarmouthport, features
works by Allan Remick and Mary
Susan Chalke. May Good and Joan
Jacobson are exhibiting at the
Sovereign Bank, Route 28 in South
Yarmouth. All works on display
through June 28.
BFW Gallery
An opening reception for an ex-
hibit of landscape florals by artists
Adrienne Landry and Keith Howarth
is held June 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at
the gallery, 28 North St. in Mashpee
Commons. The works will be on
display through July 21.
New exhibits and more at
CCMA
As part of the 25 exhibits planned
for its 25th year, the Cape Cod
Museum of Art is showing works by
Joseph E. Enneking (1881-1942),
a well-known regional impression-
ist landscape painter, represented
in major museums. A retrospective
of works by William Littlefield is on
display through Aug. 27.
Throughout the year works by
Cape teachers Charles Hawthorne,
Henry Henche, R. H. Ives Gammell
and Hans Hoffman will be on dis-
play. Works by their students, such
as Hilda Neily, Sal Del Deo, Haynes
Ownby, Harry Holl, Arnold Geiss-
buhler, Varujan Boghosian and Robert
Douglas Hunter, to name a few, will
also be exhibited, all in honor of the
25th anniversary.
Marine art of the Cape and the sea
is displayed through June 18. Rick
Fleury's work can be seen through
June 25. The public is invited to solve
the puzzle of "Meditation at Patmos,"
a painting by Xavier Gonzalez, as part
of the museum's Community Cura-
tors program. A members and artists
reception is held June 16 from 5:30
to 7:30 p.m. The Secret Garden Tour
is June 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
when artists will be in the gardens
painting. Adult studio classes offered
are still life oil painting, stained glass,
bas-relief sculpture, digital photogra-
phy, contemporary film, more.
Children's art classes and activi-
ties are held July 6 through Aug. 21.
Programs offered include multi-me-
dia, fairy tale, painting, drawing,
ocean explorers, masks, collage, face
painting, Chinese water brush, finger

The Master Gardeners Association
of the Cape Cod Cooperative Exten-
sion and the Boys and Girls Club

create a garden club for kids. Meet-
