to forecast. Charts and graphs can easily
be translated to html or rich text to show
summarized data. BIToolz comes with a
complete web/richtextWYSIWYG author-
ing tool for content generation.
Interactive Reporting 2.4, published by
Interactive Reporting, costs $1,000 and
has a 30-day trial period,with watermarks
on the reports. Interactive Reporting is
an intuitive business intelligence tool
that allows executives to analyze financial
data quickly and easily.Report definitions
are contained within templates. These
contain the majority of the business logic
necessary for analyzing a particular prob-
lem domain. Templates are connected to
data by mapping. Sales and inventory
analyses come with the product. The
download contains the reporting client
that provides regular drilldown, pivot,
charting and comparison capabilities. It
also contains a template editor for build-
ing your own templates and a mapping
editor for connecting them to your data.
It supports SQL Server, Oracle, DB2,
Informix, Mysql, Access, excel, Firebird
and other database platforms.
The truth , as they say, is out there. The
business owner must decide how much
is needed and how best to obtain and
use it.
