[Magnetic Telegraph to Boston Papers.] Arrival of the Steamship Georgia ! New YonK , Sunday, June 9th. The steamshi p Georgia arrived here about nine 'clock, th is evening.wilh the Mails from California , nd S100.000 , in gold dust. She has a large num- ber of passengers. The Georg ia brin gs no later news from California. By Monday's Mail, Lewis Cass has had to change no position—to "lake no step backward" to join with the friends of the country in their present efforts lo bring back peace and harmony to our peop le. The whole host who now work together in favor of compromise base their action on the noninterv en- tion doctrine declared and advocated by Gen. Cass years ago—and if settlement is soon,,lo come, sis we have faith to believe it will , it cannot stand , unless its foundation is upon nonintervention with slavery in the Slates or Territories. The course of Clav , and Wi'bster , &c.,now is a comp lete vindication and triump h of the Democracy of the nation. It is a victory of the Baltimore Convention of 1848 over the double dealing ot I he Whi gs in that campai gn The Whi gs themselves have been compelled to ac- knowledge the truih and justice of the Democratic doctrines as the onl y ground of settlement ol a great question whose agitation threatens the destruction of our nation. This is a triump h far hi gher , far holier than a mere triump h of a party in a contest for the Presidency. The Democracy have triump hed , and the country is safe.—[Lawrence Sentinel. Cuba.—A correspondent of the N. Y. Herald , writing from New Orleans , May 24th , says : I understand that there are congregated in this city, ready to leave for Cuba , about fifteen hundred emigrants , all well armed , and about five thousand more reanlarl y enrolled between this city and Mem- phis. The ball has commenced rolling, and it will never stop until Cuba is ours. The present expedi- tion may end in defeat , but another on a grand scale , will be gotten up, t hat neither Spain , nor their all y, the government at Washington , can put down. I liave never seen as much enthusiasm upon miy sub- ject as is now exhibited by the entire South in favor of this movement. The tide of popular opinion is in favor of it , and no administration can be sustained by the people who are opposed to it. Mutiny.—Shi p Planter , of Nantucket , as we. are informed by a Hobartstown paper , took on board 2 seamen at Syd ney, who endeavored to create a mu- tiny on board th« shi p. One of them seized some cabin stores, and while endeavoring to pass them up to the other , was shot dead by Capt. Hussey. The other attempted to strike the captain with a spear , out the latter shot, off one of his hands. Some oth- ew of the crew had armed themselves , but desisted. ¦The captain threw overboard the bod y of the dead 'ears of a«e we love our moth- ^ss- a r t r a"lei's ' at ten ' 1>o')'days ; at sixteen , Ol'f Wi ve, T , 'y ' Our ^/''eart.s; at twenty-five , °, -> at torty.our children ; at sixty .ourselves. FROM THE ABLE AND DISTING UISHED Dr. A. mcFarland , Of the Insane Hospital , Concord, N.II. We are favored wi th the following truth-speaking and convincing letter , as to the virtues of Dr. Thomas Corbett's Hi ghl y Concentrated Syrup of Sarsaparilla : Gentlemen : Havi g directed and made use of the Com- pound Concentrated Syrup of Sarsaparilla , prepared by the United Society of Shakers, somewhat extensivelv in my practice , I cheerfull y add my testimony to its valua- ble q ualities. In those depraved habits connected with scrofulous diathesis , which we often find , but for which it is difficult to prescribe , I consider this Syrup pecu- liarl y useful. In chronic diseases of the skin , it may be used with success, being well calculated for this class of diseases. Being acquainted with the composition of this Syrup, I speak of it with more confidence. a. McF arland, m. d., Insane Hosp ital , Concord , N. H. Truth s like these pro ve the efficacy of this invaluabl e preparation of Dr. Corbctt ! It is not heralded to the world by disgusting statements of cures which no med- icine ever could effect , but it simp ly promises , (under the approval of the ablest physicians and chemists in the country.) to cleanse the, blood, heal the lungs, cha nge a depraved system , cure all eruptions of the skin , dispel dis eases of the liver , erysipelas , rheumatism , salt rheum , dysentery, and give tone to an enfeebled and dyspepsical stomach. That it will effect these cures permanently, testimo- nials are too abundant to be offered. EDWARD BRINLEY & CO., Boston, Sole Agents. For sale at the County Bookstore. Barnstable, by O. M. HINCKLEY. Wistar 's Bal sam of Wild Cherry Is a chemi cal extract of Wild Cherry and Tar. Eve- ry bod y knows that Wild Cherry possesses important medicinal properties ; and Tar Water has always been ad ministered in Consumption and Lung affections gen- erall y, by our oldes t and safest physicians. Various remedies, it is true, have been offered and puffed into no toriety for the cure of diseases of the lungs, and some ha ve been found no doubt very useful , but of all that have yet been discovered , it is' admitted by physicians , and all who have witnessed it effects , that none has proved as su ccessful as this. For Asthma, Shortne ss of Breath , and similar affections , it may be pronounced a posi tive cure. It has cured Asthma in many cases of ten and twenty years standing, after physicians had de- clared the case beyond the reach of medicine. This Bal sam is made from materials which Nature has pla ced in all northern latitudes , as an an tidote for di seases caused by cold climates. "Nature is but the name for an effect Whose cause is God." Let us no t neglect her plainest dictates. None genuine, unless signed I. BUTTS, on the wrapper.
