Osterville book sale The Friends of the Osterville Village Library hosts weekly book sales in the library's basement. The next sale is June 14 from 9 a.m. to noon. Sturgis Library news Ongoing book sales are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations are always accepted. Books are needed for the annual book, bake and plant sale being held in June. Cape Cod Writer's Center conference The 44th Annual Summer Conference at the Craigville Beach Conference Cen- ter is held Aug. 20 through 25. Programs for young writers and adults range from prose and poetry writing, manuscript evaluations, story meetings, screenplay, story pitching, memoir writing and much more. Marstons Mills story hours and more The Marstons Mills Public Library invites children of all ages to weekly story hours on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Also on Tuesdays, at 4:15 p.m., there is a story hour for children in pre- school through grade 2, crafts includ- ed. Grades 4 through 7 are invited to play board games from 4 to 6 p.m. Whelden Memorial Library The bookstore is open June 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. when there is a sale of used and new books, audio and video cassettes , CD's, recorded books , games, puzzles and more. Storytimes at Eastham Public Library The Eastham Public Library has weekly storytime every Friday at 10:30 a.m. for children up to age 5. A craft session follows. The library also hosts a monthly "Magic The Gathering" trading card game program for ages 11 and up the first Tuesday of each month from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. All are free, but you must sign up in advance. Six feet long, the make-be- lieve mammals will be displayed individually or in pods. Several are strategically placed along Main Street , Hyannis. Harbor Your Arts This town-sponsored pro- gram features 15 local artists exhibiting and demonstrating their techniques at Bismore Park, 180 Ocean St. in Hyannis through Sept. 30. Take the Hyannis-JFK family compound walk Walk Hyannis and enjoy ocean views on a 10K jaunt be- ginning at the Heritage House Hotel, 259 Main St. in Hyannis. Hyannis Artscape Thursdays Art galleries along Main Street stay open until 8 p.m. the first Thursday of every month. Those who visit the galleries are eligible to have a meal at participating restaurants for 20 percent off. Participating restaurants display flags. The Garden Club of Hyannis The Garden Club of Hyannis (GCFM-NGC) meets the third Tuesday of the month at the Federated Church of Hyannis, 320 Main St., at noon. The public is welcome for a small donation. Weekly films and food The Island Merchant, 10 Ocean St. in Hyannis. has screenings of popular films every Tuesday evening. Food and drink samples related to the film are served on the side at 7 p.m. The screenings are at 7:30 p.m. Ad- mission for the package is $15 or you can order off the menu.
