' KKW COINS.—The U. S. mint at Philadel phia
have issued specimens of the new three cent piece,
composed of three-fourths silver and one copper ;
also the new cent , containing a small proportion of
tilver. These are coins proposed by Mr. Dickin-
sonV bill . The cent weighs 25 grains ,and has a cir-
cular hole in the centre. The Spanish coins now
jn circulation will be received at the mint at their
current value in exchange lor the new coins, so as
to induce a rapid and genera l recoiimge.
Quick Passages.—The shi p Reindeer , built at
Boston , in 1847 , for R. It. Forbes, with Mr. Forbes'
netf topsail ri gged , left Boston Nov. 22, and arrived
at Sun Francisco A pril 2, making the passage (in-
cluiling stopp ing at Val paraiso.) in 122 days.
The little Bon/iy Boat '•Toccao,'" Oapt. Crans-
ton , frO"1 New Bedford Oct. 25, arrived at San
Francisco April 12. It will be remembered that
the Toccao is onl y about thirty tons burthen.
Bunker Hill.—The seventy-fifth anniversary of
the.battle of Bunker Hill , will be celebrated under
the ausp ices of the city of Charlcstown and the Bun-
ker Hill Monument Association , on the 17th inst. —
The oration will "be delivered bv Edward Everett.
Dr. Btherewilh and was carried on to the main
•baft , anil instantl y killed. He was mang led in a
mo^t shocking manner. The shaft was making 120
Evolutions per minute. An inquest was held by
Coroner Russell , and the verdict was in accordance

ed the ' Concentrated Syrup of Sarsaparilla ,' is also

cure of cutan eous diseases. Were there any secret in
the making this article , or a single reason for supp osing
that the id ea of driving a profitable trade in nostrums
was ent ertained, we should be the last person in the
worl d to give it notoriety. In the frankest manner pos-
sible , the pro;'e-s of making this medicine was circum-
sta ntiall y described to us , and the evidence of scientific
practitioners adduced to corroborate the statement of
Dr. Corbett. In justice , therefore, to the Doctor, we
should be glad to have our friends prescribe this medi-
cine."
