ROLLING START-Under
the large flag marking
the parade route
along Main Street in
Centerville, members
of the Barnstable Police
Department' s Traffic
Division offer a rolling
start to Monday's
parade. The flag
traditionally hung over
the parade is raised
each year by the White
family of Main Street in
Centerville.

JEEPS - Military-issue Jeeps no longer on active duty make their way along the Main Street
Centerville parade route.
STAR SPANGLED BANNER -The Barnstable High School Marching Band starts the second set of ceremonies on Memorial
Day with the playing of the National Anthem at Beechwood Cemetery in Centerville.

A WREATH AT THE ORIGINAL
- John Jenkins lays a wreath at the
base of the Civil War Monument
at Centerville's Monument Park.
The obelisk, erected in 1866, is
the original war monument in
Barnstable and was the second
inthe state to recognize Civil War
veterans.
ONE-WHEELED CELEBRATION
Gaining claps and cheers along the
parade route was this unicyclist.

to end the town's
Memorial Day
observances.
