"Cathy" Whelan , 47, for- merly of Falmouth , died May 24, 2006 . at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. She graduated from Cape Cod Regional Technical High School with a degree in child- hood education and was taking courses at Cape Cod Community College. She was a member ot the Cove Club in Harwich, Fairwinds Clubhouse oi Falmouth and the Friends ot Baybridge Club in Hyannis. She loved helping others and particularly enjoyed her role as an aide to the disabled She was also proud of her responsibilities as a housekeeper and felt great satisfaction from a job well done. She loved music, the ocean and spending time with her family. She also loved ani- mals, especially her pets. She enjoyed cooking and eating and was adventurous in both. She had a great sense of humor and a great memory for telling stories of the past, Survivorsinclude her moth- er, Carolyn G. RELIGIOUS NOTES A Festival of Hymns Parishoners from Federated Church of Hyannis and St. Francis Xavier Church will gather at the former's house of worship on Main Street to celebrate Pentecost,known as "the birthday of the Christian church,"June 4 at 4 p.m. Hymns from the fourth through the twentieth century will be presented by the senior and bell choirs of Federated Church along with the Brentwood Brass and tim- panist Philip Vitali, and the stories of their composers will be told in the first person by members of both congregations. Admission is by a suggested free-will offering of $10. Finding world peace A four-session class, "World Peace Begins with Me," will be offered June 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Unity Church of the Light Classroom, 3328 Main St. (Route 6A), Barnstable Village.
