• May 26: Birding at Fresh Brook in
South Wellfleet to spot spring mi-
grants at 7:30 a.m. or maybe you'd
like to hike at Lieutenant Island in
Wellfleet where salt marshes, bar-
rier beaches and coastal heathland
abound. Walk begins at 1:30 p.m.
• May 28: Birds & Breakfast, meet
at 8 a.m. for a leisurely walk through
the sanctuary looking for spring
migrants then enjoy a continental
breakfast overlooking the salt marsh.
Search for box turtles at 10 a.m..
study the turtles in a workshop, weigh
and measure finds, more.
• May 29: Take a marsh cruise on
Nauset Marsh to learn about the ecol-
ogy, 10 a.m.
• May 30: The new All-Persons
Pathway at the sanctuary opens today
with a dedication at 2 p.m. All are
invited.

Yost to speak on health
insurance
Karen Yost will discuss the U.S. family
health plan and options at the June 1
luncheon for members of the Cape Cod
Chapter of ihe Military Officers Association
of America. The event is at noon at the
Jailhouse Restaurant in Orleans.
Chatham lecture
The Chatham Historical Society
presents a free lecture by William
Burke on Samuel de Champlain May
28 at 2 p.m. at the Atwood House
Museum , 347 Stage Harbor Road in
Chatham.
Wildlife center lecture
series
The Cape Wildlife Center hosts a
lecture series this spring. Dr. Allen
Rutberg discusses living with wildlife
on May 26 and on June 9 Jana Perry
brings up the subject of orangutans
and primates. Both lectures are held
at the Cape Wildlife Center, 185
Meadow Lane in West Barnstable, at
7 p.m
