be presenting a special fire safety program

COASTAL EXPLORERS: Cotuit students

and animal life through hands-on activities
as part of the Coastal Explorers Program.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: The follow-
ing BHMCS Teachers received a participa-
tory award for encouraging their students
to contribute to the Peace Week Poetry
Contest: Ms. Allen, Ms. Anderson, Ms. Bou-
lette, Ms. Davis, Ms. Dranetz , Ms. Ewald,
Ms. French, Mr. Gavin*, Mr. Gauthier*, Ms.
Manderville, Ms. Mazzeo, Miss McAbee,
Ms. McNamara, Ms. Nunes, Ms. O'Connor,
Ms. Stone Ms. Sullivan. This contest
was sponsored by the Veterans for Peace
Incorporated. * These teachers are U. S.
Marine Veterans. A copy of all the student
poetry entries for BHMCS, is being kept in
the school's library.
SPECIAL EVENTS: On June 6, BHMCS will
be conducting a Transition Night for all
interested parents of system wide fourth
graders. Come and see BHMCS from 6:30
- 8:00pm
SUMMER TECHNOLOGY WORKSHOP.
Cape Cod Technology Council is sponsor-
ing a one day Workshop in Photoskill for
Teachers on July 15, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Site of
Workshop is the BHMCS Cost is $65 per

RECOGNITION: BHMCS is proud to an-
nounce that since the programming of
"Study Island" on the School'sWeb site; the
students have answered over half a million
questions with an accuracy of above 70 per-
cent. Technology, when utilized properly,
can be a fantastic learning/teaching tool.
Congratulations to all who participated.
IMPORTANT MEETINGS: The BOT (Board
Of Trustees) Meetings are held on the
last Thursday of the month at 7:00 am in
the BHMCS Library and are open to the
public. There is a public comment op-
portunity on the agenda at the opening of
