Poker tournament
A Texas Hold'em Tournament is held
May 21 at noon to raise funds for the
DY Soccer Boosters. The event is at
Buncey's Pizza and Sports Cafe in Den-
nis. Donation is $60. Gift card prizes.
Open house on the canal
The Cape Cod Canal is the place
to be May 20 between 10 a.m. and 3
p.m. when there is an open house at
the Coast Guard Station, dock side
tours from the Sandwich Marina, boat-
ing safety presentations by the Cape
Cod sail & Power Squadron, music ,
demonstrations and more. Activities
held at Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center
and the Coast Guard station.
Fundraiser contest
All classrooms at the Quashnet Mid-
dle School in Mashpee are competing
to raise Pennies for A.L.S. through
May 31 at which time the funds will
be donated to the ALS Family Charity
Foundation.
Plant sale in Yarmouth
The Yarmouth New Church Pres-
ervation Foundation hosts a plant
and white elephant sale May 20 from
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Preservation
Foundation building. Route 6A in
Yarmouth.
Elegant garage sale
Furs, silver, crystal, fine china, an-
tiques and more for sale May 27 from
9 a.m. to noon at the Creative Arts

merce is holding its 17th Invitational
Golf Tournament June 15 when there

Art and book auction
The Friends of the Mashpee Library
are throwing a party, Mermaid Tales,
May 19 at 6:30 p.m. when original
art and signed books will be up for

Scholarships for summer
camp
The Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod
will be distributing $100 scholarships
for the summer day camp to any child
with a parent in the Air Force, Marines

Maritime Days are here
again!
The 13th annual Cape Cod Maritime
Days festival runs through May 21 when
lighthouse and walking tours, boat shop
tours , kayak tours, festivals , maritime

include an exhibit of maritime art at the
Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis, a
maritime history display at the library in
Truro, a day-long maritime history sym-
posium at the Cape Codder Resort and

What's up at the CCMA

New programs at the Boys
& Girls Club
The Boys & Girls Club in Mashpee is
open Monday through Friday from 2 to 7
p.m. Teen nights are held each Wednes-
day night from 7 to 9 p.m. and every
Friday night from 7 to 10 p.m. Addition-
ally, the club is open every Saturday as
well during vacation weeks. Offerings
include photography, homework tutoring
and help, horseback riding, lacrosse, a
goal-setting program, karate, basketball,
dance, computer, career prep, healthy
living and much more. A satellite Boys
& Girls Club for grades 7 through 12 is
open at Mashpee High School where
there is computer support, games, tutor-
ing SAT and MCAS prep and much more

Coffee and an open mic
The YMCA of Cape Cod's coffee-
house* for teens at Camp Lyndon in
