" Sch Danube , 'Wclden , from Norfolk for Portland , with corn, was abandoned at sea 23d nit. The vessel commenced leaking 22d , about. 125 miles NK of Cape Henry. The captain anci crew left the sch in their boat and the former has ar at South Dennis. It is presum- ed the others are safe. Bri g Titus C Mather , (of Dennis) V B Nickcrson , from Baltimore for Boston , with flo ur, cor n , wheat , leathe r, &c, went ashore on Brid ghnmpton beach , Long- Island , at 7 AM 29th ult , duri ng a fog. She beat over the outer bar , an d d rove u pon the beach , heelin g off shore. The sea being hi gh at the time , her hatches weic soon knocked off, and th e vessel filled with water. On the 30th , her cargo was drifting out , and about 200 bbls flour had-floated ashore. The crew, to save them- selves, were obli ged to climb in the vessel' s ri gging; they w ere fi nall y rescued by means of the apparatus from the Boat Houses , under the charge of the Life Sav- ing Benevole'H Association , of New York city.— Much credit is due to the peop le of the neighborhood , for their courageous efforts to save the lhes of the crew. The T C M is a superior vessel , of 188 tons , built in Bridgeport , Conn , less than 1 year ago ,and is ow ned by several persons, some of whose shares may be insured at Cape Cad and other plac es. One account says she had bil ged and was badl y hogged , but we trust it will prove not so. Sloop Pilot , Kclley, of and for South Boston fi om Provincetown , with sand , sprung aleak 1st inst , abo ut 15 miles NW from Race Point , and the pumps becom- in g ch oked , the crew were forced to take to their boat, of onl y nine feet in length , saving onl y what they stood in , and she went down in about 15 minutes after. Two or three v essels passed th e boat with ou t seein g her , as it blew hard ; but sch Kowena. from Provincetown , hav- ing discovered them in season , took them up. We hear that Capt K had just purchased the sloop fo r $400, be- in«- about all he was worth. A Hong Kong date of Feb 2G , says "the Am whal e shi p Formosa , Swift , of NB, is on sh ore on the South Bank, about 35 miles below Woosung. The master and crew left her 14th , at which tim e she had 7 feet of water in her hold. Junks and lorebas had been sent down -to her from Shang hai , but it was blowin g- so ha rd that it is doubtful whether anything could bo sav- ed.
