ABSTRACT ARTIST EXHIBITS IN ORLEANS - In a solo show, Melora H. North exhibits her abstract monotypes, and acrylic and
watercolor paintings, through May 30 at Snow Library on Main Street in Orleans. North has embraced painting after many
years of work in stone, collage, photography, welded art and other mediums. Her works are colorful and whimsical, bright and
imaginative. A reception to meet the artist is Tuesday May 9 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Osterville book sale
The Friends of the Osterville Village
Library hosts weekly book sales in the
library's basement. Book sales are held
May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and May
10 from 9 a.m. to noon. Another is held
May 17, also from 9 a.m. to noon.

Tuesdays through the end of May,
Osterville Free Library hosts story time
for 3- to 5-year-olds from 1:30 to 2:15

Ongoing book sales are Tuesdays

The GoodStart Program is looking for
new and gently used books for distribution
to the children of the community. Bring

Tuesday toddler story time is at 10
a.m. with preschool storytime ev-
ery Wednesday at 11 a.m.; then on
Fridays there is a special story time
for school-age children at 7 p.m. A
new book club is forming focusing on
personal growth and spirituality. The
group will meet monthly at 9:30 a.m.
the second Wednesday of the month.
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Kidd
will be discussed at the first meeting
on May 10. The store is located at 769

Cotuit Library
Story times at the Cotuit Library are

The Marstons Mills Public Library
invites children of all ages to weekly
story hours on Tuesdays at 10 a.m.
Also on Tuesdays, at 4:15 p.m., there
is a story hour for children in pre-
school through grade 2, crafts includ-
ed. Grades 4 through 7 are invited to
play board games from 4 to 6 p.m.

Eastham Public Library
The Eastham Public Library has
weekly storytime every Friday at 10:30
a.m. for children up to age 5. A craft
session follows. The library also hosts
a monthly "Magic The Gathering"
trading card game program for ages
11 and up the first Tuesday of each
month from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. All are
free, but you must sign up in advance.

Arts Foundation of Cape Cod
Submissions are being accepted
for the third annual Comcast Cape-
wide Student T-Shirt Art Contest. The
winning design will be featured on the
21st Annual TD Banknort h Pops by
the Sea concert T-shirt. Scholarships
for first , second and third place will be
awarded. Submission deadline is May
10, with winners announced May 19.

Cape Cod Art Association
The Spring Color Explosion Ex-
hibit is on display through May 15,
seven days a week. Admission is
free. The Association , 3480 Route
6A in Barnstable, is offering courses
in watercolor painting, oil painting,
life drawing, digital photography and
more. The Association is accepting
student members ages 14 to 22 with a
membership fee of $15 a year, which
includes discounts on classes, news-
letter subscription and ability to exhibit
