The Barnstable Senior Center had the studio print two thousand key chains through a generous grant through the Community Foundation of Cape Cod, and ZooQuarium is another regular customer. Equally important is the sense of community that has result- ed from local businesses and granting agencies working with Impressions Print Stu- dio, which has managed to create high quality products at competitive prices. "It is a small in-house mi- cro-business, what is called 'social entrepreneurship, '" said Oliver. Residents fill the job positions at the print studio and they are paid minimum wage. This year the studio provided employ- ment for six residents and paid commissions to eight artists who are residents of Life, Inc. Because it is a non-profit business, all profits go back into the Life, Inc. program, and as with all non-profits , funding is a struggle due to government cutbacks. As a result , Oliver said, "we need to be more creative and in- novative with programs." To contact Impressions Print Studio for information or a quote on ajob , call Bar- bara Oliver at 508-477-6670. As she put it, "We are always looking for business."
