"Geraniums are also nice because they
are a droug ht-tolerant plant. " he said.
Along with flowers, certain vegetables
can be grown in container gardens , in-
cluding tomatoes, peppers , small squash ,
and even corn. Container gardening
allows for plenty of experimentation
and creativity.
For a cheery summer arrangement ,
drill small holes in the bottom of a
plastic sand pail and put it to a new
use. or hand paint a tin one and use

said Sarowsky. "Terra cotta planters
dry out faster than ceramic so keep an
eye on them. "
Sarowsky suggested asking a friend
or nei ghbor to water plants should you
travel during the season. "Watering is
very important if you're going away.
Have somebody w ater for you or you
won 't have anything left when you come
back ," said Sarowsk y.
