ove flowers but lack
the space for a big
garden? Have the
space but don't have
the right soil to support plants /
Consider creating a container
garden.
Container planting is a wonderfu l way
to participate in the joy of gardening
if you have physical infirmities or if
you lack the necessities such as space
or proper soil. And starting a container
garden is as easy as choosing your con-

Just as there arc an endless variety of
flowers to choose from , there is also an
endless supp ly of container s to grow
them in.
It is best to first consider where you'd
like your container to be during the
growing month s. Location is a benefit to
this uni que sty le of gardening because
there are few restrictions on where to
grow !

available in any number of desi gns from
classic to whimsical. For something
unusual you mi ght even want to use
an old chamber pot or perhaps a pair
of discarded rubber boots '

to get planting. A tri p to a local garden
center is in order because you 'll need
equi pment and material such as soils ,
mosses , and garden tool s , not to men-
tion flowers and decorative herbs .
Master Gardener Mike Sarowsk) rec-
ommended that plants be chosen based
on the li ghting where a container will
sit. While some plants appreciate full
sun. others prefer shade. Sarowsk) ap-
preciate s the look of a three-dimensional
