contra dance
A traditional New England contra
dance will be held the fifth Saturday
(except New Year's Eve) of each
month from 8 to 11 p.m. Basic in-

4Cs Foreign Film Series
returns
Check out foreign films this
winter at 3:30 p.m. in Lecture Hall
A at Cape Cod Community College
Tuesdays through May 9. The next
screening is April 18 when The Boat
is Full plays. In 1942 Switzerland,
people are fleeing Nazi Germany but
the Swiss declare themselves "a full
lifeboat." On April 25, the film is Jean
de Florette, the tale of a city hunch-
back who inherits a valuable piece of
rural property April 25.
Woods Hole film fest
Films from the Woods Hole Film
Festival will be featured in a series
of dinners and screenings at Cap'n
Kidd's restaurant in Woods Hole.
Dinner is served from 5:30 to 7:15
p.m. with the film shown at 7:30
p.m. Admission is $25 per person
and includes dinner and the movies,
which play April 15 and 29 and May
6 and 20. For reservations, call 508-

Weekly films and food
The Island Merchant, 10 Ocean St.
in Hyannis, has screenings of popular
films every Tuesday evening. Food
and drink samples related to the film
are served on the side at 7 p.m. The
screenings are at 7:30 p.m. Admis-

can order off the menu.

A Ray of sunshine
Ray Rasicot performs at the Pad-
dock Restaurant, West Main Street
in Hyannis, Friday and Saturday
evenings when he'll be playing the
Hammond Organ (B-3) as well as the
piano. He's solo on Friday nights but
on Saturday he will be joined by Mike
Crocco on sax and clarinet when they
perform pop classics and a selection
of favorite show tunes.
Peruvian music
Inca Son performs music from the
Andes region in costume April 16 at
the Woods Hole Folk Music society.
Show time is at 7:30 p.m. and tickets

Folk and blues in
Eastham
Blues practitioners Ani Raines and
Paul Rishell perform April 22 at 8

Celebrate the sea
The Historical Society of Old
Yarmouth celebrates April 23 at 3
p.m. when there will be readings from
local diaries telling the stories of the
seafarer's. Wine and cheese served
at this event at the Capt. Bangs Hal-

Lane in Yarmouthport. Admission is
$25. Funds benefit the rebuilding of
the Gorham Cobbler Shop.
Jazz in Barnstable
John Squibb and Blue Montuna
perform April 23 at 2 p.m. at the

Borromeo to perform
The Borromeo String Quartet
performs works by Mozart, Schoen-
