Sounding off at HannaH's
Aresident ofthe condo-community
above HannaH's restaurant at 615
Main St.in Hyannishas complained
to the licensing board that he can
hear music from downstairs. The
board will hear from both sides at
its next meeting.
It's not going to get any quieter
at the corner of Sea and Main, as
plans for asecond restaurant, Shay's
Publick House, are visible through
a window.
Callthis another early test case in
the great experiment of mixed-use
zoning.
Kendrick's and the
complaints
Police Sgt. Sean Sweeney told the
licensing board Monday that Ken-
drick's on North Street in Hyannis
received 60 visits from his depart-
ment last year, athird of which were
responses to reports of assaults.The
rest were for reported disturbances,
and most occurred around closing
time, he said.
Although Kendrick's has a com-
mon victualler's license, Sweeney
said, there is a question regarding
how much food is being served.
Sweeney said another concern
is the presence of customers not
yet of drinking age. He suggested
the board might want to examine a
compromiseunder whichKendrick's
would close at 11 p.m. when under-
21s were admitted and at 1 a.m.
when admission is limited to those
21 and older.
