At a special council mooting, a
new building committee' was ap-
pointed to carry out tlu> plans of
enlargement ot present facilities
of Community Church. The com-

Frances Evans, Mrs, Ellen Good-
speed, Mrs. Evelyn Gould , C. Delton
Hall , C. Roscoe Hinckley, Francis

Palohes, Mrs. Ethel Riedell, Her-

seems most necessary to carry on

Troop 1 of the Osterville Girl
Scouts made Anal plans for a cookie
sale on Saturday. Miss Lillian Py-
burn, Mrs. Waldo Howe, Mrs. Ralph
Lagergren and Mrs. Willuril Phil-
lips will assist the girls. It is hoped
by the Scouts that the public will
co-operate to make the drive n

CEMETERY MEETING
The annual meeting of the "Hill-
side Cemetery" Association will he
held on April 4 at 8 p.m. in the
office of the Leonard Insurance
Agency. Election of officers to be
held. Anyone interested will be
welcome to attend , as they are de-
sirous of new members,

Carolyn, daughter of Mr, and
Mrs. Harland Wheeler, observed her
seventh blrthduy anniversary with
a party at her home.

of Osterville will attend a B-29
Engine School at Chanute Field ,
Illinois.
Sergeant Owen is a graduate of
Barnstable High School, class of
1933, He has been in the Air Force
for seven years, 18 months ot which
were spent In the China-Burma-In-
dia Theater as a gunner with both
B-24s and B-26s.
Sergeant Owen has been sta-
tioned at Hollomun for the past six
months, assigned as a crew chief
with Operations Section.
Betty , wife of Sergeant Owen Is
formerly from Cincinnati , Ohio.
Their son, Ronald , Is ten months
old.

Engine House Road, so called , in
the village of Hyannis, from a point
opposite the westerly boundary
line ol the property of Eugene F.
Doane to Iyanough Road, thereby
causing the said Engine House
Road to enter Iyanough Road at
approximately a right angle.

In HyannlH, The net proceeds of the
Tournament will be used for the
propagation and conservation of
llsh and game on Cape Cod.
The purposes of the Tournament
ure to promote salt water sport
fishing on CAPE COD, take the
strain off fresh water ponds, pro-
vide a diversion for our guests aud
ourselves, encourage good sports-
manship and good fellowship, en-
courage young people to become
good sportsmen.
The tournament area shall in-
clude all salt waters of CAPE COD
(Barnstable County). Any fish
caught on a boat based on Cape
Cod Is eligible In the Cape Cod
Angler's Tournament regardless of
how far from Cape Cod the fish Is
caught. Fish must be weighed in
within 24 hours.
Prises awarded , while not great
In monetary value , will be symbolic
of the sportsmanship achieved.
They will consist ot trophies,
medals, cups, ribbons, citations,
certificates, and mechandise.
Three youth divisions will be for
9 years of age and under, 9 to 11
Inclusive , 12 to jf> Inclusive.
A photo contest and u fishing
story contest will he open also, the
latter divided between "True"
8(or|es and "Tall" Stories.
Each Saturday evening Cape Cod
Anglers, Inc is to broadcast a pro-
gram from WOCB, 8:45 to 7 o'clock.
A Fishing School will be con-
ducted for Instruction in fishing,
use of bait and tools, and Informa-
tion as to where the catching la
good.
In a bulletin, the Anglers Club
gives full details of rules, list of
eligible flsh , prizes, judges, weigh-
ing stations, etc. Copies are avail-
able to contestants and the Patriot
will publish from time to time
further information.
Fish for the Sport
Maurice R. Phinney
Funeral services were held Mon-
day for Mam-ice R. Phinney, with
a requiem high mass at 'St. Francis
Xavler Church, Hyannis.
Mr. Phinney died last Friday at
the Cape Cod Hospital at the age
of 70. He was born in Hyannlsporl,
the son of Tollston F. and Louise
D. (Nlckerson) Phinney. He was a
communicant of St. Francis Xavler
Church and was a member of Hy-
annis Lodge of Elks,
I During World War I, he went to
Key West and the Sanlbal Islands
where he was active in reclaiming
shark oil for use by the Navy.
At one time he was correspond-
ent (or Boston newspapers. He also
owned and operated the Hyannis
Fish Company.
Surviving him are his widow ,
Mrs. Louella M. (Krotzer) Phin-
ney ; a daughter, Mrs. Edmund
Bussiere of Portsmouth, R. I.; a
son, Maurice R. Phinney, Jr., of
Hyannis; a grandson, Maurice R.
Phinney, 3d, of Hyannis; a brother,
E. Henry Phinney of Hyannis, and
a nephew, Homer A. Phinney of
Hyannis.
Ark Sold at Auction
The "Ark", on Wequaquet Lake,
Centerville, owned by Tom Steven-
son, was sold at auction last Friday
for $16,750. Oershom D. Hall of
Harwich was the purchaser, and,
according to his statement, he
bought the place tor development.
About 160 persons attended the
sale, for which John C. Klley of
Boston was auctioneer.
The estate comprises about 40
acres and a 2300-foot lake frontage.
The purchase Included also a par-
cel of land on Route 28 near the
junction with Camp Opecbee Road.
